pleased, but also a little disappointed
I got this cookbook today and it has a nice variety of recipes. I've already made the lemon-blueberry muffins. They were easy to make and turned out great. All the recipes I've looked at seem to have simple, economical ingredients and are fast to prepare just as promised. There are only about 10 pictures in the middle of the book, but that's not a big deal and helps to keep the cost down. My disappointments are in the fact that my family hates oatmeal and I have a kid allergic to eggs. Those two problems eliminate a lot of the breakfast recipes--not the author's fault of course, just not great for me. And you're not going to reach the listed price in the recipes unless you coupon and bargain shop and have a garden and a deep freezer. The recipes are still economical and many would probably still fall under $5, but don't get your hopes up too high. All in all, it's a good value.

Great Recipes!!
I have made numerous recipes from this book and have loved them all! We have many favorites and have a hard time naming the most favorite ones. I think if my husband had to pinpoint one, he loves the Tuna Melt. It's his all time favorite. He makes it a lot. It has a great flavor and wouldn't have thought of using these components together. They are fantastic! Will never try my tuna any other way again! Can't wait to try out the other books!

Love this book
I love this book. I'm always looking for new ideas for breakfast and lunch, and this book is full of them. I have liked most of them that I have tried. At times she uses a bit more sugar or oil than I would use, but I usually just modify the recipe to my liking. I love that it gives me so many ideas. I love her overnight granola. Best granola ever and super easy - no stirring just bake 10 minutes and leave it in the oven overnight. Turns out nice and crisp in the morning. I also like a lot of the bars that she makes, and that she started me making and freezing some of those items to have a quick breakfast ready to go.

Great ideas, tasty family friendly cooking
I have seen many references to this book, and finally purchased it. There isn't anything exotic or complicated here, but there are plenty of good ideas for frugal and tasty food. This book would be good for a beginner or more advanced cook, and it gives many money saving ideas along with recipes. We have enjoyed quite a few of them already. Check out the author's blog to get an idea of what types of recipes are here. I have subscribed to the blog for a couple of years, and was excited to see this second cookbook that she has written.

Well worth the money!
i love this book! Not only are the recipes inexpensive and easy to make they are made using real ingredients. And if you cook often you will have most of the things that you need already. She has plans to help you cook in and hour and freeze ahead some things for busy mornings. I can not recommend this book enough. I often get in the rut of cereal and fruit for breakfast and sandwich, fruit and veg for lunch but no more!

Nice Down to Earth Recipes
I've had this cookbook for awhile now and we regularly use the breakfast recipes. I haven't gotten too into the lunch ones yet but I'm trying to start packing my lunch for work more so I'll be using them more soon.

I LOVE this book!!
There are so many awesome and easy recipes in the book! It helps me to be a little more creative when it comes to weekday breakfasts instead of just relying on cold cereal and frozen waffles. And many of the lunch recipes can be used for dinner, too. Creative, tasty, nutritious, AND with an eye toward keeping costs down. I highly recommend this cookbook!

Very good cookbook
My family gets stuck in the cold cereal and sandwich rut fairly easily. This cookbook presents some great alternatives. And everything I have tried has been delicious. All of the recipes feature fresh-made ingredients - no cream of anything soup or bottled dressings. Plus, this book features not only recipes, but helpful money and time-saving tips.
