 I bought this storm glass mainly because it was so beautiful and I saw a few videos on YouTube and fell in love with the elegant design and concept! I like how this version has a humidity and thermometer built into the wood base. As for the weather predicting capacity of this product, I believe that it is pretty accurate for now. I’m a sceptic and in NYC right now, it has been very sunny this time of year (despite it being winter). And according to the glass that has all the precipitate at the bottom and mostly liquid form , it is sunny and correct. But that could just be because my apartment is very hot and could happen to be a coincidence. Nevertheless, this product is so beautiful and I love it!! I believe that if you want it to be an accurate weather predictor rather than a (VERY NICE) decorative piece, it should definitely be placed near a window so it can really get a chance to feel the temperature outside. Another thing to note is the stability of this product. The glass comes separate from the base, and the only thing holding it to the base is a small indentation in the base. I thought that it would wobble allot, but I was wrong. The glass stands firm in any position and I was pleasantly surprised by so!

When the storm glass came in the mail there were a lot of the white pieces up at the top and I don't know how to get them down and into the water. I turned it over a few times and that didn't help at all. It looks awful. Surely there is some way to fix this.......

I got this for my son for Christmas, and I’m impressed. The stand is very nice, I just hope he doesn’t break it.

It is a bit smaller than i thought it would be but really cool. I put this out and it looks just like water it did not change until today i came home and it had crystals in it, we had a cold front come through. It worked!

I like it, I just didn't realize how small it really was when I ordered it.

I like the size, can't comment on accuracy yet. My issue with the product is the base. While it is uniform in shape it rough, unfinished and sharp cornered. I hand sanded down to 320 grit and applied a couple coats of boiled linseed oil before gifting.

 This comes in a super cute box that makes it great for giving as a gift. It is the perfect size to sit on a computer desk. I think it makes an excellent conversation piece and is a nice gift for someone who has everything.
