TC2503LF 1-Inch Foot Valve

Q: What's dos a foot valve do

Allows water to be pumped in one direction only. Once your pump is primed the foot valve won’t allow the water to run back out of your inlet pipe preventing you from having to re-prime your system over and over again!

Q: Would this work on a oil transfer pump? Need to know if oil is thin enough to flow through the valve.

not made for oil. are other products would work better but prob would with room temp oil like hydraulic oil

Q: Is there a brand that is designed to work in a lake (with less than pure water)?

I have used this valve to draw water from our local river for the past 8-10 yrs ( had to replace once ) to run my lawn sprinkler. The mesh screen seems to do a good job keeping out debris.
