Arrived just as described! 100% worth the investment!
This product arrived just as described and was packaged safely so as not to break. It came double boxed and the package box was perfect for wrapping if this is a gift. It is stylish enough to be left on the kitchen counter and not stick out no matter your décor. Although the description says it comes with one recipe book, it actually comes with two. One small one recipe book that can be stored inside the crock when not in use or in a kitchen drawer, and a larger one that is perfect for the cookbook shelf! The weight is not brittle or cheap like others that are on the market that cost as much or more. I have been making my own sauerkraut for years and highly recommend this product!

Didn't come in as advertised
Just received this product and did not get the 45 recipe book that was advertised, only got the small instruction manual with a few recipes. I am new to fermentation and could have used the book to help with recipes

perfect and easy to use
This devise does just what I bought it for and it looks great too. Easy to understand instructions and easy to clean and see what is going on inside since it is clear.

Sturdy
I was really happy with the Kombucha crock. I haven't made anything yet, but I am looking forward to it. My only concern is that the lid is plastic. I will have to be sure not to let any food go beyond the weight and touch the top. The lid would have worked out better if it was a different material like ceramic.

Great for the price
I'm impressed with this fermentation crock, it's very easy to use and clean. The lid seals nicely in the water well. It's a great size. I appreciate the cookbook as well, even when I am sure that I can find recipes on-line it was nice to have the book with ideas that I never would have thought to search. I tried the cherry tomatoes right away, it's insanely simple and I had never thought to try it. They turned out amazing. All in all, I'd say it was a great purchase.

Fermenting canisters are wonderful
I have used the 2 liter which is great I am returning this because it’s just to big I wish they made a 3 or 4 liter

Awkward
The concept is good but performance is lacking. I made a couple of batches of kimchi and whike it turned well this product could benefit from some improvements. The weight is considerably smaller than the inside diameter so material gets on top of it. A 2-piece weight would solve the problem. In addition the lid fits poorly. Larger threads would make it much easier to install and remove. Finally, the water trap is too small. While the unit works I would not purchase another until improvements are made.

Decent
The weight is not large enough to keep the contents submerged in liquid. Other than that it’s a nice product.

So easy to use.
A very stylish, easy to use kit which produces great sauerkraut. Easy to clean and you can watch the progress of your “creation’. I’ve actually got 2 - one for sauerkraut and one for kimchi. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty much as advertised
I'd ordinarily like to have more experience with an item before reviewing, but because each use takes many days, I will say it has performed satisfactorily in the one trial I have put it through so far. I made the simplest recipe in the book -- sauerkraut -- and it turned out fine. It is basically a big glass jar with a gasket lid, and it is much easier to use than messing with old-style crocks and mason jars. For sauerkraut, you basically just chop up a cabbage, add 3 tbs of non-iodized salt, wait for it to spring water, then put the whole mess in the crock. Wait a week, and you have sauerkraut. My batch tasted fine, although next time I will make the cabbage finer.

Product failed miserably
One saving grace with the purchase has been the great support and service provided by Amazon.Bought this product circa late March, came with a damaged weight and the glass looked to have been through some production stress (white striation marks on side) and was generally dirty - Amazon kindly gave me back $15 for the ceramic but the hassle of return led me to believe that cleaning it would address the condition. Used it for making ginger beer following the recipe (2 weeks); noticed liquid coming from the base but assumed this was from the water trough at the top. On finishing off the bug and pouring out noticed a large crack at the bottom.I followed all the care instructions and used only warm water and took extra care in handling, but wonder whether the crack was the result of the stress I saw on the product at outset. Contacted Amazon and asked for a replacement, they told me to contact Mortier P. Mortier ignored all e-mails to their info e mail and Amzaon redirected me to their seller link. Mortier refused to replace saying the responsibility of Amazon.Amazon provided the refund no problem. There are a lot of comments on jar cracks on the reviews that suggest a 5% to 10% failure rate, which is high. No support/engagement/explanation from MP re their product - do they care about their product/brand?

Just as advertised! It arrived much quicker than I expected in good condition. No problem s.
Great looking product. Two recipe books. I’ve gone through them both, but just got it 3 hours ago, so haven’t. Had a chance to use it yet. Looks very straight forward. A little difficult to get the guard off, but after running warm water over it, it popped off without any problem. I’m really looking forward to trying some of the recipes. They all sound so good.
