Bgraamiens Puzzle-The Hills Beyond-1000 Pieces Color Challenge Jigsaw Puzzles

This is the second Bgraamiens puzzle that I completed. The other was Lovely Monsters. The piece cut on this puzzle was a bit different than on Lovely Monsters. This puzzle has mostly standard shapes but some of the pieces are similar to those by the puzzle company, Educa. The pieces are just beautiful in terms of crisp, vivid color and are high-quality in terms of thickness and sturdiness. My box contained pieces that were all perfectly cut with no layer separations, no ragged edges, and no pieces that were still stuck together. The pieces each fit in only one spot so that you know you have the correct placement. This puzzle was quite a bit more challenging than Lovely Monsters. I found the light colors easier to assemble and had a harder time with telling apart the darker colors. The puzzle does have a letter system for beginning puzzlers. The letters range from A-F which correspond to 6 grids of the puzzle. You should expect to be in for a challenge if you opt not to use the letters on the back. I completed the puzzle without using the letters. I then took the puzzle apart and redid a few parts of it after sorting the pieces into A-F piles. Doing this, I found the puzzle too easy for my liking. I'd encourage you to take your time with this puzzle and not use the letters or only if you get really stuck. It's a nice challenge and not impossible if you are willing to put in the time. When completed, this puzzle is a wonder to look at and would be a beautiful puzzle to frame. I am quite pleased with this brand so far and look forward to doing the other puzzles I purchased.

I couldn't wait to get this one. But I had to. It was manufactured and shipped from China. But it was worth the wait. I am moderate in my skills, having done a couple hundred puzzles, I imagine. This is about intermediate level for me. The pieces are almost all two bumps, two holes, meet in the corners. A few are wavy-sided. So uninteresting, but unique enough to be easily distinguished at close quarters. No textures of any kind. Colors are very finely shaded variations, and edges of color are crisp.On the back of each piece is a string of letters, such as AAAA, BBBB, etc. This helps to locate a piece geographically, and can also tell you when the piece is upright instead of upside down or sideways. The geographical locations of the sections were a bit puzzling at first, and I still don't have them quite figured out. They appear to be going from right to left (Hebrew reading pattern), top to bottom, though not quite, because FFFF is on the left side in the middle. I didn't use the letters to begin with, but they were helpful to me after I did all the easiest parts.If you have a good artistic sense, this one will appeal. If you prefer nostalgia or paintings, this is not one of those. I am giving away most of my puzzles because in general I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff, but I will keep a few puzzles, and this will be one of them.

Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the colors were a lot more washed out than the picture on amazon portrays. The picture on amazon is much more deep shades of purple. This one is quite a bit lighter.Puzzle is brutally difficult. Though there are letters on the back if you want to make it easier, we chose the hard way and half way through I wished we had used the help.Pieces were very hard and sturdy, the whole thing left the impression of high quality. If the puzzle had more accurate colors to the sales image it would have been 5/5.

If you are inspired by the beauty of artistic puzzles, this is a wonderful choice. If you are motivated by the challenge of figuring out what goes where and seeing it emerge under your hands, this isn't a good choice. The cut is predictable with alternating mostly similar pieces. Ignore the letter codes on back to have a more enjoyable experience. Great for beginners, not for experienced puzzlers. Was able to put it together in about 3 hours, and expected more of a challenge.Suggestion for manufacturer: This is breathtaking color and light artwork. A more challenge die cut would match the worthiness of the art. Thanks.

Old review: Would have been a 5 star review if three pieces weren’t missing. It’s disappointing because it certainly is beautiful enough to be framed. It was challenging but the letters on the back helped. I hope the seller can correct my issue because I would love to do this puzzle again.Updated review: The second puzzle I received had some peeling edges on many pieces, but I just super glued them down. I can tell the quality is less than the original however with the supply chain issues I'm curious if another manufacturer made it. It at least had all of the pieces and I'm happy! Looking forward to other challenging Braamiens puzzles!

My friend loved it

This was a fairly challenging puzzle for a few reasons. We saw the "a", "b", "c", etc markings on the back of each piece but sorted them the old fashioned way....by color, edge pieces instead. Colors on the box or the picture provided inside do not match the puzzle, so it must be used as a guide only. This made everything more challenging. Still, it is a beautiful puzzle, but unfortunately 2 of the pieces were damaged on receipt. After we finish puzzles, we pass them on to family members, friends or donate them. This one will be forwarded with a warning and a so-so attempt at a "color repair" on those 2 pieces. I expected better quality for the price.

This is the first puzzle of this brand I've done, and I'm impressed. I thought it would be harder but actually I did this in less than 24 hours. The different color zones make it easy to focus on a zone at a time and sort those colors out. There is an alpha grid on the back, but I only used that tool at the end when I was down to the dark purple areas. There is a color poster included, but I don't typically use those. The pieces are sturdy and high quality. I'd purchase more from this company.

Loved this one! The colours are beautiful and solving the layers of hills stretching out towards the horizon is fun! I don’t think it’s necessary to have the cheat codes on the back of the pieces it’s not hard to solve.
