Mini 120X Solar Flag Pole Light

I bought my first of these lights in 2019. It does a great job of illuminating our flag at night on our dock. Last week the weather took down the flag pole and it, along with the light ended up in the lake. We fished it out after a day or so and guess what?! It still works great! Highly recommend.

But I do have one on each of our water fountains and a 4th one on my 150 foot ham radio antenna tower about 5 feet off the ground so I can see my antennas at night. Very bright for the cost and simple LED. Would buy again, oh wait, I have purchased 4 times so I guess I already bought it again

The item is described as a “flag pole” light but all the mounting parts are flat. They come with an assortment of hose clamps that they advertise for mounting it to the pole. I mounted mine directly to the house above my flag and in my opinion is what it is designed for.

I asked prior to my purchase about wether or not I could use this flagpole light on a 1 inch pole. I did not hear back from the manufacturer or the vendor, but only one prior customer who said, basically, that he thought a 2 inch pole was the smallest. I bought it anyway. The unit comes with two hose clamps for attaching the two parts to a pole, large and gigantic. I had to go to my own supplies to find a smaller clamp, and though the one I found was smaller and I did get it to work, I still had to trim off about 3 inches. The hose clamp idea might work better with an even smaller clamp, but I think it might be even easier to use 4 stainless steel bolts and nuts of the proper length. I feel that this option should be provided by the manufacturer.On a different note, I'd like to mention the case for the solar cell. It is a rectangular device. My issue is with the corners. They are sharp and show a small gap at each corner which could cut you and allow water to enter the device. To alleviate these issues, I took electrical tape and lined the whole outside edge. It may not last long, but it is better than nothing.I tested the unit last night and it performed well, but tonight will be the first automatic test.I may add more to this review later.RickOkay, it's been more than a week now. It seems to be working flawlessly. I have the light setting at the lowest, and it's plenty of illumination. I've seen it kick on at dusk, but I'm never awake early enough to see it kick off. It has been through two rain events without any issues.Final note from 18 months after installation: The unit has failed entirely. No warranty information was available on Amazon beyond a referral to the manufacturer's website, which was not provided. I do not know if it is the solar cells or the light that has failed, but I guess customers should be aware that they may have to buy a new one and go through the installation mods that I did about every year and a half. Personally, I was hoping for more. One other note: although a have a spinning wall mounted 1" flagpole, my 3'x5' flag got tangled in the lighting mechanism once or twice a week, which I had to free by hand. There are a bunch of "stick outs" that can catch your flag.One last 'final' update. I was wrong about the unit failing entirely, it had merely turned itself off. I bought a second unit, and while installing it, I tested the old one in a dark room and it came right on. Check this first if you'd goes off. I have a 2nd flag, so I didn't return the 2nd unit.

This is what my parents needed for their flagpole so they don't have to raise and lower the flag every morning and evening. It is plenty bright and the solar panel is good enough it shines all night. Has made the flagpole low maintenance.

Love the light and dimming feature but the cord from the solar pad (which has the controls) to the light is really short making it hard to mount on my house for full solar gain. Another 10-12 inches would help a lot ! I’ll still go 5 stars, it’s very sturdy and last all night.

A bit difficult to put together. Had an issue with the brightness at first but now works like a charm
