"The Wiersbe Bible Commentary: The Complete Old Testament" is all of Wiersbe's Old Testament "Be" commentaries collected together, word-for-word, in one edition.WHAT'S THE SAME: the commentary. Every word has been preserved, from Genesis through Malachi.WHAT'S MISSING: the "Be" themed titles ("Be Basic"; "Be Delivered"; etc.); the "Study Questions" that were at the end of each "Be" book.WHAT'S NEW: a 2-page introduction by Pastor Wiersbe.CONS: To fit all of these commentaries into one volume they had to shrink the type size way down to something like a 6-point font. The footnotes are especially tiny and I have to lean close to see what's on the page. That's not a big problem for me because I have pretty average vision, but if you rely on large-print, you may as well skip this edition or else get a magnifying glass.Another potential problem is that the paper is so thin and the margins so tiny. I suppose they had to be so all of these wonderful books would fit into one volume. For example, Wiersbe's original commentary on Joshua, "Be Strong" is 168 pages, plus 12 pages of "Study Questions". Here they have squeezed the commentary text, word-for-word, onto 49 pages. They squeezed all of the books down into 1533 pages, each one thin as a razor's edge. This becomes a problem when you want to write notes in the margins. My pen bleeds through this extremely thin paper. Also, the margins are only about 1/4-inch-- not a lot of room to write. If you like to interact with a book, pen in hand, this edition probably isn't your best option.PROS: This edition is an outstanding value. Each of Wiersbe's Old Testament "Be" commentaries costs between 8 and 10 dollars, so look at the price of this edition and do the math. It's a steal.The binding feels solid, and when I open it to a page it stays open instead of closing on me.And while I criticized the font size, I have no problems with the actual font. It's very readable. And the use of bold print is helpful for seeing the layout of the book. It's very well organized.Finally, Wiersbe's writing style is accessible and the conclusions he draws from the Biblical text have proven practical and helpful in my walk with the Lord. He's not quite as folksy and "down-to-earth" as J. Vernon McGee, but he has the same passion for putting God's Word out there for the common people who want to understand how God wants them to live.CONCLUSION: I didn't have hundreds of dollars to spend on the original "Be" books, so I got this volume. While there are some drawbacks (tiny print size and margins, thin paper, no "Study Questions"), I'll treasure this edition and keep using it until I lose my eyesight.

These books are getting harder to find. I felt so fortunate to find this OT addition in one book. However, be warned, the print is very tiny and requires some serious readers or a magnifying glass. Well worth the trouble though. Brings so much depth to what you are reading. It I could, I would purchase every book he wrote.

Thorough and thoughtful

I love the perspectives and explanations by Warren Wiersbe.

This is the best book seller i have ever used. There was an issue of delivery through NO FAULT of seller. They went over and above to solve the issue. The condition of book was excellent even better than they described. I will always check to see if they have the book i need first.

The Lord has truly blessed Warren Wiersbe. My only wish is that I could have sat under him during his time as pastor as I would have loved to hear his sermons first hand (though I listen to them over the radio all the time). For those who are familiar with Warren Wiersbe, this book reads just like you are hearing one of his wonderful sermons, while also giving you the feeling of talking with a friend over a cup of coffee. I can literally hear his voice as he explains parts of scripture (which he does in great depth). This book sits beside my bed, along with my Bible, when I'm away and have forgotten to bring this commentary, I truly miss it!

I have the NY version as well; whatever I read in Scripture I turn next to see what Mr. Wiesrsbe has to say!! True to his style Mr. Wiersbe offers an in depth look into what was going on, and it is peppered frequently with his personal stories, opinions and includes a not-small smattering of doctrinal asides. May not be for a reader with strict doctrinal knowledge and uninterested in any ones else's take on things.

This is an essential Bible study tool for me. I teach n a Christian school, speak in chapel every four weeks and teach a Sunday school class of senior adults each Sunday. We're going through some of the women of the Bible. Dr. Weirsbe has tons of helpful information and insights. So glad I got the N.T. Commentary that I ordered this one to complete the set.

A superb theological writer, explaining bible versus which seem to difficult to digest , it's exiting fear my and superb understandable theology on the holy bible.. It will be a blessing to all who study it along with there holy bible. Recommend to purchase seriously worth every penny.. Buying the old and new testament as a bundle is for me the best way to purchase. Enjoy.

This is a very good commentary book on the Bible Old Testament, another commentary I have read deals with verse to verse but this book deals with chapter to chapter which I felt was easier to read and to grasp the chapter's meaning, would highly recommend this author, I have several of his books, came well wrapped and good delivery time

For most of a lifetime I have been a lay-preacher, speaking in a wide range of churches and denominations. Many years ago I bought my first Wiersbe "Be" book (Philippians) and discovered the most valuable author of my life for supporting sermon preparation. One by one I bought all the New Testament "Be" books and used them. But I always wished that he'd done the same thing for the Old Testament. . . and then I discovered that he had! All in one volume, and this is it. Since buying it, it has already started to earn its keep (Deuteronomy). If you want a book or series of books offering a clearly thought-out and practical study of the Bible, this is it. I cannot recommend it enough. And you don't have to be a preacher!

I can not get enough of this book, my husband uses it day and night, so much wisdom can be gain from this book
