I made a thin rip jig for my table saw and used this gauge to dial in the thickness. All I have to do is zero at the blade and then dial in the thickness I want to repeat.

The guage us accurate and has nany uses outside of tire tread depth. Would recommend, but there are better depth guages for 2X the price. I would recommend IF your application is not hampered by small probe diameter. For my multiple uses the probe diameter could make accurate usage difficult do I chose a different digital depth guage.

Ease if use. Accurate. And not to small for bigger hands

It works very well for my application. I own a semi tractor and it is a great way to stay on top of tire wear and D.O.T. related issues.

I didn't pay close enough attention when I purchased this. The manufacturer basically took a digital caliper and added a little foot to the end and calls it a tread depth gauge. Maybe in Europe this is great but in the U.S. we refer to tread depth in 32nd. Most states have minimum tread regulations of 4/32. My state is 2/32 (Vermont). This gauge measures in decimal inches or millimeters. As an automotive professional, I have to document tread depths. This doesn't help unless you want to get a calculator and do some conversions and rounding of numbers.

Works great easy to use, BUT does not read in 32nd, so keep that in mind when purchasing.
