Fantastic Beasts: The Magizoologist's Discovery Case (RP Sets)

For the budding magizoologists among us
Our 8 year old daughter is deep, deep, deep into Harry Potter since we watched all the movies with her. And now that she has almost completed reading all the books in the series. Her jaw dropped to the ground with amazement when the found this cute little version of Newt suitcase in a comics store around the theatre launch of the Grindelwald movie. It was of course absurdly priced so we convinced her to have some patience. Now we got her birthday upcoming and found it still expensive but more reasonably priced at Amazon.Keep in mind this is miniature version of the suitcase; it only measures around 25 cm x 20 cm and is about 10 cm in height. However is looks very nice with lots of detail. Most of the parts are made of high quality cardboard with colourful print but it has a fake leather carrying handle, fake leather corner protectors and genuine metal closing clasps with a cardboard dial that allows to open the suitcase in a muggle-friendly manner (no-maj) or maj-manner.I’m a muggle with limited knowledge about all these things but I’ll try to describe; the maj-mode triggers some magical beasts sounds when opening the suitcase. Inside there is a very nice note book with over 100 pages filled with activities and Newt’s notes and drawings regarding his magical beasts. But the little zoologist can also start to take notes herself on beast discoveries with the included wand/pen of her own explorations in a the included journal. I guess one of her first entries will be her smelly, annoying little beast-brother.The no-maj mode, triggers a lid trick that reveals a printed display of more ordinary case contents. If you want to be cynical it’s a very neatly presented but expensive activity book and plastic pen. However its extremely well presented and has great play- and display value. It makes the suitcase an lovely interactive play set that stirs the imagination and that builds on the wealth of magical creatures that come with the movies and books. As such it’s the perfect gift for our little Potter-enthusiast, and a must-have for collectors.

Newt’s Suitcase has finally arrived :)
I ordered this for my son’s 7th birthday in a few days time. And it is FANTASTIC (pun intended). It’s got a peelable instruction panel on the underneath of the suitcase explaining the features. It’s detailing is excellent. Metal corners and metal catches that open and close little the one in the film, with a leather-like carrying handle in the middle which needs to be worn in. The rest of the case excluding content is cardboard. The cardboard turn-dial takes you from ‘Muggle Worthy’ with a safe panel and in the opposite direction opens to a truly brilliant, detailed fun packed activity book...Plus a wand that doubles up as a pen! Underneath the book is the magical beast noises activation tab, which open pulling, connects to a sensor to when that area of the suitcase is opened. So when you open that section, several magical beast noises activate.I can’t comment on how good that is, as I have to wrap this and don’t trust myself not triggering it by taking another cheeky look inside. This is a lovely item for any little Newt Scamander wanna-be. The scale is great for a 7 year old otherwise it might be tricky carting around a huge adult sized case. You can also remove the middle and you can carry magical beasts inside too :DIt’s also an amazing collectors piece for us grown up fans (I WANT ONE).Considering the price, I’m mind blown.I will have a VERY happy 7 year old in a few days time...thank you!!The only downside to this entire process was delivery times that were a bit all over the place? Maybe due to demand? I’d ordered it for delivery for the middle of November and then had an email saying it would take from December to January? Then it turned up a few days ago? So if you don’t mind waiting, it’s utterly worth it!

Newt Scamander Suitcase, hard cover notebook and pen - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
OMG! I clearly didn't read the description properly. I thought I was ordering a 'Box' that looked like a Suitcase.....Did I get a surprise. A WONDERFUL surprise when I opened up the package. Proper locks, but no key, (that's fine), a wheel at the front to turn to 'muggleworthy' or 'wizard'... Already set to wizard when I opened it I saw a tag that said 'pull to activate sound', (scratched my head - What!!!) so I did - Woa! amazing menagerie of animals filled the room. When I closed the box and turned the dial for Muggle worthy, I opened the case again and was met with an empty tray and no noise (very clever). Highly recommended. The secret tray compartment means I can store some things in there from my next trip to HP Studio in London. The wand pen is also very cool and writes beautifully, feels nice in the hand. The notebook however, I thought would be plain lined pages, is actually filled with activity things and Fantastic Beasts animal info. So well thought out and invented. Well done creators you've created a most magical affordable fun box that I will recommend to others.

It’s good but just for the case
So if you didn’t know it has sound and muggle worthy, but for me the sound didn’t work and it only did when i shock it and not how it’s supposed to. the muggle worthy does not work when the sound box thing is in but if you take it out it does, personally i don’t mind the sound not working as i found it out after i bought it and i was going to take it out anyway to make up more room. i would only get it if you LOVE Harry Potter/ fantastic beastsIt is good and i don’t mind that the things don’t work as it didn’t really have them in the movie. the inside is really good it look straight out of the movie if you want to get it i would and that’s my review
