Great tutorial on bridges for model railroading, exactly what I was looking for.

As the book description states, this is a consolidation of articles that were previously published in Model Railroader. So if you have a complete collection of back issues, you don't need this book. However, if you don't or you just want all the information in a single place, this book does the job. The editor has done a very good job of selecting the material for this edition. There is a mix of prototype data to help you decide the appropriate style and modeling topics from modifying kits to scratchbuilding. There are plenty of illustrations and photos to show how to construct a wide variety of culverts, bridges, trestles, and viaducts.

This book supplies basic information about bridges and trestles. It is a summary of articles that have appeared in Model Railroader from 1993 through to the date of publication in 2012.If you are looking for more information on bridges and trestles, I suggest volume I which goes into more detail on the subject. Volume 1 is a similar format to Volume II being a collection of articles from 1962 through to 1991. However there seems to be more depth on the subject explaining the components and applications more than Volume II describes.If you have subscribed to Model Railroader from 1993 to 2012 save your money and browse through you collection of magazines.

The best thing about this book is how easy it is to find information on building model railroad structures. I love the Central Valley bridge on the cover and it inspires me to build more bridge kits!I am looking forward to seeing more steel structure components to be released by Central Valley in the future and encourage them to produce more N scale & O scale CVT along with the steel structures.

This book has enough info for me to plan and build my RR bridges and fix some that need repair too!

vol.1を持ってる方も持ってない方にも有益なガイド本だと思います。但し英文は読まなければ、図面や写真を眺めるだけでは分からない事は多いです。紹介されてるケースは、スクラッチもキット改造も手作業は多めです。本巻では割にシンプルな橋や排水管中心ですので、ある意味、vol.1より実用向きです。
