This is the most wonderful vacuum I have ever used
This is the most wonderful vacuum I have ever used. When I first moved out of my parent's house, I was given a hand-me-down Hoover that had seen better days. When I decided to buy a sweeper I got a Shark Rotator XL and it was almost as bad as my ancient Hoover. My grandpa bought me the Dyson for an engagement gift, and I can't say enough good things about it. The amount of dirt and hair that it picked up out of our rugs and carpet that the other sweeper left behind was scary. My carpet and rugs actually feel cleaner and softer after I'm done running the Dyson. It works great on hard wood floors too, which is primarily what we have in the house. I have two cats and a large dog and this sweeper picks up hair easily, even the hair that gathers right along the edge of the wall (the Shark did not, you had to use the attachment hose). The Dyson isn't super quiet, but it's not really a negative for me. I've definitely used noisier vacuums but I have used quieter ones as well. The people at Dyson made the vacuum smaller and more streamlined by storing the attachment hose in the handle, which is nice because it's not in your way, but it's not super easy to get out and put back in; however that wouldn't deter me from buying the Dyson, I think I just need more time to get used to it. If the price scares you, just know that there is a reason this vacuum is so expensive! It's worth it! My grandma still has the very first Dyson they ever released and my mom still has her second generation. Both still work as well as the day they got them.

Believe the hype
We have a medium hair German Shepherd and two long hair cats, and had a 5 year old Shark that was just not cutting it anymore. We went back and forth with should we get another Shark since we did like our old one, or spend the extra money and get what most reviews were saying to get. Well I am so glad we went with the Dyson. I’ve never had a vacuum with such strong suction. The stairs extension thing is awesome, our stairs have never looked so good. Our carpets look revived and have nice carpet lines again. The hard floor feature is awesome, I used to have to use the extension hose on the Shark and that was the only way I could vacuum the hardwood (because it’s hard floor feature wasn’t strong enough suction), but the Dyson suction is so strong it works perfectly upright. I’m confident it is picking up all if not most animal hair in the house. Any little, minor complaint I would have about it (like the stiffness of the extension hose) is not even worth talking about because at the end of the day this vacuum has strong suction, and gets the job done better than any vacuum I’ve ever had or used. Also, I have a friend who has a cleaning business and she agrees that the best vacuum of them all is Dyson, and owns one herself. I would say the price difference between the Shark animal vacuum and the Dyson one is worth splurging on the Dyson. It’s my new best friend.

This Animal has Amazing Suction Power!
With five indoor cats and many foster kittens, this is my go to vacuum cleaner. Product was delivered as expected. Well packaged. Easy to assemble if you follow the instructions provided. This vacuum has amazing suction power. When I got to a large area rug, I had to switch to the turbine attachment because the Dyson was sucking so hard, it would not move even when the rotating brushes were turned off. The turbine attachment made ease work of cleaning the rug. Word of caution, the turbine brushes move very fast. So, to avoid injury, turn off the vacuum cleaner when attaching and detaching the turbine attachment. Watch your fingers. There is not much room for error. The other tool attachments are easy to use and conveniently located on the vacuum cleaner. The long power cord made vacuuming easy in my small house. I did not have to move the cord from room to room. I just kept on vacuuming until my task was done. It is easy to move from carpet to bare floors by pushing the rotating brush button on and off. It was easy to empty the adequately sized bin. I LOVE this ANIMAL! If you have multiple pets in your home, this is the vacuum cleaner for you. There is no other.

Dandruff clogs the filter. Add an extra.
This is a great vacuum as Dyson are very good products. The one issue I have is they should come with two sets of filters. Anyone with a pet and a cleaning habit will use this often enough that a filter drying in time is a real concern. Pet dander from 2.5 dogs and a cat proves to be too much. Once it’s clogged the vacuum stops being a vacuum and just gets hot! Buy extra filters unless Dyson itself changes and includes an extra set!

Worth the price
Bought my first dyson vacuum about 10 years ago. That one lasted about 8 years (my husband is a bit rough with appliances). Recently moved into a new house. Decided I didn’t want to spend the money for this vacuum again. Bought a shark something... for about $150. That vacuum lasted less than 8 months and blew a fuse (happened while husband was using it...I have no idea...). Anyway finally came to my senses and decided I could either spend the money on this vacuum I know I love, or spend twice as much money over 8ish years buying a new cheaper vacuum every year. Went back to my old friend Dyson. Yes, it’s pricey, but your carpet will be so clean, and it just don’t compare to the other vacuums that claim to never lose suction. The ONLY thing I wish they would improve is the hose length/elasticity as it doesn’t stretch very far when doing corners or stairs and I constantly forget and pull too far and knock the vacuum over. Still by far my favorite vacuum of all time!!
