Brand new to me in early 2016, but golly I love this album. Playing it all the time, and singing some of the songs to myself in those blank moments the day provides. Hip hop with witty rhymes, sweet vocal chorus tunes, strings, and a sense that this should all be fun somehow, even the getting it off your chest digs at stereotyped expectations of black youth, or the conflicted sense of power the dollars and fame allow.This is a truly fine album, wholeheartedly recommended by this English white guy who's been a bit off the hip hop radar since BDP, Gang Starr, and the early Wu Tang solo records. Kendrick Lamar's "Good Kid..." set got me excited again, and my interest led me to this terrific record. If you're looking for rap with heart and reason, this and Lamar are surefire winners, and you won't regret buying them for a second.. Even the dancey remixes on the de luxe set are pretty tasty.The kids will think you're cool again.

Coming from a successful acting career, Gambino boldly addresses his critics in the rap game with a litter of brash, poetic and scathing rap verses, punctuated by beats and melodies trip enough to satisfy everyone from your grandad to your 15-year-old hip-hop junkie brother. To my mind, there are very few debut albums in history as daring or redemptive as this. Listening to these tracks, it is not difficult to understand why Childish Gambino has quickly become a stand-out figure in modern day popular culture since the release of ‘Camp’.An easy 5 stars.

Ottimo disco dopo i mixtape, conisgliatissimo a tutti gli amanti del genere.Entra di diritto tra le migliori produzioni rap/hip hop degli anni 2000.

Ich bin auch eher zufällig auf Childish Gambino gestoßen, ich glaube sogar nur durch einen Kommentar von Tua. Ohne irgendeine Vorahnung hab ich mir das Album gekauft und es komplett durchgehört und war sofort beeindruckt. Wie schon erwähnt strotzt dieses Album nur so vor Vielfalt und Texten, die einen dazu anregen sich mit den Thematiken auseinanderzusetzen. Dieses Album macht abgesehen von den schönen Instrumentals so viel Spaß, weil man beim Hören gespannt auf jede folgende Zeile des Künstlers wartet. Daumen hoch für dieses (Meister?)Werk!
