Yankee Candle Chocolate Layer Cake Scented, Classic 22oz Large Jar Single Wick Candle, Over 110 Hours of Burn Time

The candle doesn't smoke when relighting it. The scent is not too overwhelming but creates a lovely cozy ambience. So much nicer than floral scents that take over everything until they become unpleasant. So easy to extinguish - just replace the sealing glass top and the flame goes out - almost no soot or blackened glass on the interior. The only thing you need to be careful about is only placing the candle on a nonflammable surface. The first time I purchased this, it burned down to the very bottom of the glass jar and got so hot that it scorched the antique oak table it was sitting on. It should be placed on a thick ceramic plate or an asbestos type of trivet.

Pro: I purchased this brand and Vanilla Cupcake candle because I wanted to freshen up my apartment and also have an emergency power outage candle for when we have those California rolling blackouts to prevent electrical fires during summer heatwaves when air-conditioners are in high use. I don't have one of those, but everyone is affected when our power company has to do it. I can rest easy with this candle in its own glass jar and it has a strong scent within a half hour of burning it that I'm not allergic to and my partner said he thinks it smells like a vanilla tapioca pudding rather than a cupcake, and I agree. My small senior apartment complex isn't allowed to have candles that aren't in a safe heat resistant glass container so this is perfect. It is important to trim the wick prior to using it and each time thereafter to 1/4". Instructions are listed on the product box. Keep out of drafts to lessen the wick smoking and extend the life of the candle.Con: We moved the candle from the bedroom to the living room (which is much larger) because the candle scent becomes very noticeable after about 20 minutes or less in each room. If you have a larger home (mine is 600 sq. ft.) it may take longer to fill the entire home. I'm not sure if that's a pro or a con, but I mention it because I suspect it depends more on how long you want to enjoy the pleasant light. I highly recommended it even though we are both sensitive to all fragrances. Hope that helps folks decide.

This candle smells so good, and is perfect for the fall season. I was so pleased with this fragrance. Has a great throw. I also love that these candles last a long time. I will buy this one again

I received a free replacement which was great but it was in the same condition. Amazon needs to store these upright and not on their sides. The candles are melting and being reshaped in the jars

Great scent, lasts long. Doesn’t irritate like some other candles tend to. Some candles can start to irritate my nose and make me feel sick, Yankee Candles do not do that.

When the candle was delivered, the wax was on the side of the jar and the wax was nowhere to be seen. Not sure if that was a manufacturing issue or if it was delivered on its side and melted die to the heat outside. Ordered a replacement and will update when it arrives, but for now the Candle is unusable. Smells delightful though.Update: The second candle was delivered and also melted to the side of the cup as well so I suppose it’s just too hot in my location. Thats not really the fault of the product so i mended my score. It’s a delightful smell, but difficult at some points in time to have delivered.

I love this particular scent. Very nice size container. Wish it lasted a bit longer, but the price point compared to box stores makes it worthwhile. Packaged nicely and will make a wonderful holiday gift. I bought three of these (really) at various times, and the scent fills my house with the holiday spirit- regardless of which holiday. The aroma makes my home feel so warm and comfy.

I live in a house of males so I love having a candle lit in my art room/office to have one place in the house that doesn’t smell like farts. Normally I will buy whatever is on sale from Target or Ross but the candles will only last a day or two… Not this candle, I bought this on prime day and have had it for almost a month now. I will light it about 5 days a week for 5-6 hours at a time and there is still about 1/3 of the candle remaining. I originally got it because it was on sale but I think these will be my go to candles. Even at full price it’s worth it!

Candle is lovely however yankee candle have either changed their formula or this is just old stock and has started to lose its scent

I always love my Yankee Candles…However…the person responsible for packing these candles must be made aware that they are GLASS‼️‼️…and need to be packed within a protective package…..I’ve already returned one last week that was splintered with shards of glass….very very dangerous 😡😡‼️
