A great augmentation to any SRV collection, but not a good starting point
To be very clear, this DVD is a compilation of all SRV's TV spots. The music videos included are from the very beginning of music videos, and that being said they are mostly pretty poor quality, have annoying story-lines being played overtop the music. Other content includes TV ads for his albums, some compilation videos, and some live songs from MTV.There is definately value in this DVD, but not as much as other SRV DVDs. Specifically there are some great features that weren't present on the original VHS release, such as the Little Wing compilation which is a collage of SRV events and other musicians commentary overtop of SRV's version of Little Wing. His unplugged videos also shine, however the quality is lesser than I had hoped (they sound good, they're just grainy and poorly lit).Overall this DVD is a great item to add to an existing collection as it has some gems intermingled with some of the not-so-good stuff. However if you're looking for your first or second SRV video then you really should consider Live at El Macombo, Live at Montreaux, or Live from Austin Texas. All three are amazing representations of how SRV really played, and by seeing his unrelenting passion on stage you can get a surprising insight into who he was.

Stevie Ray Vaughan-Pride and Joy DVD 2007
If those of you think, "I already own the VHS version" this is NOT the same. The extra footage with Stevie and Jimmy talking, alone is well worth the purchase price. Then there is the MTV Unplugged three songs. I hope one day that we will be able to purchase the complete MTV Unplugged Show. The DVD is an account of all the videos that were playing on the early MTV days when you could actually see music videos from the artists that you wanted to see and hear. This was during a time when the radio HAD been the place where record companies would break out a new record. Stevie left us way too song with us wanting more. This is just another reminder of what a great loss of not only one of the greatest musicians that every picked up a guitar, but a truly GREAT AND WONDERFUL human being. Rave-On Stevie Ray Vaughan!

Love it!
At first, I was hesitant to buy this dvd. I own a ton of Stevie Ray Vaughan's material, from studio and live CDs, DVDs, T-shirts... but let me say, I am so very glad I got this!I'd seen a few of the music videos before, but not all. They are pretty funny, and contribute a lot to the package. The Live Unplugged portion of the video is worth the price of admission on it's own. Then again, so is The Vaughan Brothers EPK. For that matter, so are The Vaughan Brothers videos. See where I'm going here?Bottom line, if you are in any way a fan of SRV, you will be happy to add this to your collection.Rest In Peace, Stevie Ray.

Videos and MTV Unplugged
Any SRV fan would love this. The video's are of the era. The real gem here is the all too brief MTV Unplugged performance. SRV on a 12-string acoustic guitar blazing through a short set will leave you hitting play again and wishing there was more. The extras like the commercials and interview with brother Jimmy are nice touches.

The closest I've been to SRV
Living in New Zealand is a long way from the action in Texas, Stevie Ray's home state.Iv'e never seen him play live & have only 2 other dvds of him performing magic on his beat up old strat. This DVD has brought me the closest to Stevie Ray Vaughan that I'm ever gonna likely to get.The interview with him & his brother Jimmy are especially heart warming as it gives you a glimpse of the man behind the music. Stevie Ray Vaughan & his music are as much loved here as he is in Texas & this DVD is a must have for any of his ilk.

Great videos
Fantastic videos with good humor, I have the original VHS, but no VHS player now, so it was a good "rescue"! And has some additional features that weren't in the original tape. Enjoyed very much being able to watch it again

MUST BUY ? NO. COOL BUY ? YES.
Yeah, I had it on VHS and gave up looking for it on DVD. I read this review and immediately ordered it. Yeah, the cheese ball videos are classic for the era, and Cold Shot is perfectly articulated if you watch close. I believe the videos don't take away from the songs, ie ... again, Cold Shot is telling a story in the background of the song, watch AND listen because they go together. A must buy ? No, buy a very cool buy for the fan not looking for the concert experience.

Stevie's a Joy
If you are new to S.R.V and want to watch Stevie at his best, I'd advise you to purchase a live dvd. You can see why he was the best Blues guitarist of his generation at Live at El Mocambo. For existing fans this is a nice collection of promotion videos from the 80's when video ruled. There is also a live track and clips with his brother Jimmy from the Vaughan Brothers album, but the best are the newly added songs from his appearance on the unplugged MTV. This footage is worth the cost alone, Stevie shows just what a truely brilliant guitarist he was, even on a 12 string acoustic. I would buy anything that contained new material by him because to me he was a legend, I stopped myself giving it 5 stars because it's good collection piece, but dose not show the veiwer what he really was all about. R.I.P. Stevie Ray.......

Texas Blues
I bought this DVD to replace an obsolete VHS cassette version I had from somewhere. The video transfer seems adequate and the audio good enough. The content as in SRVs and Double Trouble's performance(s) is 5 star. The tracks from MTV unplugged were new to me and a complete revelation.Prior to this I had associated Guild 12 string with Nick Drake and a completely different sound.Good to have.

A great addition to my SRV stuff
I was a bit worried about the lip-synch on the first video - "Love Struck Baby" but after that everything was great. Good quality throughout and worth buying if only for for Stevie's genius on the 3 MTV Unplugged tracks. Oh, and watch out for the babe on "Cold Shot"! Very poignant at the end with the bits of him and his brother. My favourite for showing the real SRV is still "Live At The El Mocambo" But this DVD is highly recommended.

Pride and joy, with the extra bonus of twelve string acoustic brilliance
This is a real treat for SRV fans, a decent quality picture and sound from stevie's MTV performance back in the 80's. This just shows how brilliant the master bluesman realy was. The twelve string acoustic played at the pace of fast forward on your old VCR. A welcome upgrade from VCR to DVD format. well worth buying.
