Royal Brush Langnickel Royal Venice Sketch Easel

I bought this easel for a workshop in landscape painting, because I needed something cheap, portable and reliable. It turned out to be a great choice! It is lightweight (I don't drive, so I had to carry it around, and it caused no problems), quite stable and very adjustable. It doesn't have a manual, but you won't need any! It is very easy to handle.Consider, though, that if you take this easel outdoors, you will have to bring something to put your brushes, paints and other stuff on. Because this thing doesn't have any shelves on it. Other than that, it's a great value for money and I absolutely love it.

Recently I relocated to an apartment in a new city. Having a home at my last location I bought artwork that fit with the house and how it was set up. Having fireplace mantels I had gotten some oversized artwork (about 24"x36")to display on them. In my new place there wasn't really a good place to put the artwork.I was definitely a little nervous about the type of Easel to buy. Worried about stability and strength as well as something that was good looking enough to feel right was a big concern. I found that the Royal Venice Sketch Easel looked to fit the bill at a decent price.As always with Amazon shipping was great. I was also very happy with the easel. It was easy to put up and is sturdy. It adjusts easily to hold the large art piece and strong enough to be stable. Once it is set up you can move it without feeling like everything will fall apart. The easel holds the piece at the top and bottom securely so it doesn't move. The wood is unfinished so you can leave it like this or you can finish it to fit your needs.While other reviews have focused on the use as an artistic tool, which it would be great I can tell. I wanted to say it is great for displays too. Much better then a metal piece that has no home feel to it. I am very pleased and my purchase again to display other works.

I ordered this product for painting in my small (375 sq. ft.) small studio/apartment. It was an unbelievable best buy! Very compact to stow away when not in use, it is sturdy enough to fit my "assemblage art" when working on it horizontally or semi-horizontally. And if my art is larger than the bar, I just place a lightweight and thin board extension (my invention) over the bar, and no problem. Really could not believe this easel is so easy, compact, sturdy, and convenient to use. It comes fully assembled, so just adjust screws for height, and its bar to a horizontal or to a vertical angle, whatever best fits the art you are doing. Low priced and fully recommended!

It's ok, but I have to tighten the screws (leg extensions, axis) multiple times so that it doesn't collapse. You can tighten it, but if it shifts a little bit, which it will while you paint on it, you will have to tighten all of the screws again. I actually decided to type this interview while I looked for another floor easel. Other people may have better luck with the easel than me though. I think it was 30-ish bucks when I bought it. I'll probably try a metal one next time.

I ordered this easel to replace my older, broken metal easel. I read several reviews that espoused the greatness of this easel, but was really disappointed when I finally got it out of the box.There are no instructions to tell you how to use the easel, so you just kind of have to figure out where everything goes and how it sits (not too difficult).However, what really disappointed me was that this was shipped to me and when I got it, the bracket that holds your piece of work was crooked. So I attempted to make it straight (because i can't paint if the foundation is crooked as the piece will just slide off). When I did this, the wood on the backbone of the easel split!So now the top bracket is busted. The nails that hold this piece of junk together are not very good (very akin to stapling wood). The wood itself is not all that great either if it split that easily.Honestly, I really think that even for the 30 dollars I spent on it, I should have gotten a better product. Unfortunately, because I live overseas, I can't return it so I am stuck with a product that is sub par and useless.

Great easel. It's simple but sturdy. No assembly required and easy to adjust for different size canvases. I didn't want to spend a lot on a easel since I'm a newbie to painting, but I got a lot more than I expected! Great purchase.

I bought this to potentially use at my wedding. While the wood looks nice, it was missing several important parts when it arrived (a washer). I found a possible replacement washer in my toolbox for one of the parts, but then realized that due to a design flaw, the easel wouldn't work properly even if I fixed all of the missing parts. The box also arrived without any secondary packaging (just the easel box itself) and wasn't packaged very carefully inside it, so it's no wonder that parts went missing. They probably fell out of the seams in the box. I would not recommend this product, and I had to return it.

This is a beautiful and sturdy easel. I purchased it to display an original textured piece of art and it is fabulous. The art displays beautifully at a slight angle--much more effective than flat on a wall. The only problem was that the hole for one of the screw adjustments was not machined properly and I had to take it an art store to have it fixed. The store didn't charge me so all is good.

Suficiente si no haces cuadros muy grandes y pesados. Lo utilizo unicamente para pintar acuarelas y puedo inclinar el papel rapidamente. Llegó en perfecto estado.

Difficile à transporter car un peu grand mais très pratique comme chevalet d'atelier, surtout par sa fonction aquarelle ( permet de travailler à plat). Tarif correct,.

If you are looking for something super strong and sturdy, this won't cut it. However, for what I use it for, it's PERFECT! Especially for the price! It's easy to lug around, nice and lightweight. I love to paint outdoors and it's strong enough to with stand wind! For the price, I feel like I got very good quality!! Easy to set up.

Habe mir die Staffelei zugelegt, da ich ab und zu zeichne.Ich sage mal, für jemanden der das wirklich nur ab und zu macht ist sie okay,doch nichts, wenn man oft damit arbeitet.Sie ist nicht sehr stabil und rutscht auf glattem Boden gerne mal weg...

I bought this easel as I needed something to hold my canvas in front of my face so I would actually finish it :-) It is very sturdy and is of good build quality. Can hold a relatively large canvas (mine fits nicely and it is 80cmx80cm). The plastic coverings on the legs is also a good touch as I have wooden floors and wouldn't want anything jarring against the floor. Relatively small and lightweight to carry when you are out on the field too. My only criticism would be that the leather strap provided to hold it together looks very flimsy (and might tear!) although I haven't used it. A small carrying case to accompany would also be ideal to lug around. Besides that a good buy and I would recommend it to anyone.
