The Drawing Mind: Silence Your Inner Critic and Release Your Creative Spirit

Drawing creative outlet
The media could not be loaded. The Drawing Mind is a light-hearted book on drawing anything. As such, it provides a lot of drawing ideas and things you can draw. It can be drawing lines, thick or thin or dotted, faces, drawing fast or slow. Sometimes you'll be told to draw what you hear, music, other times to draw what you feel with your hands and feet, something you taste, or draw something associated with certain adjectives. There are several blank pages that invite you to draw according the notes on it.When it comes to ideas, anything goes with this book. It's fun in a way that you can flip open any page and try something new. There are lots of things to try out. It's a book on drawing freely rather than focusing on drawing fundamentals such as observation drawing techniques, light and shadows, composition and values and all the more technical stuff. The book's aimed at the casual art maker, doodlers, and those who might want to explore drawing as a creative outlet.(Check out more pictures of the book on my blog. Finding your drawing mind
If anyone can help you become more comfortable drawing, it is Deborah Putnoi. She is the consummate mentor as she guides one through the process of creating. For those of us who were told early on that our artistic aptitude fell short and who were admonished to "stay within the lines", this book encourages us to explore. For the more evolved artist, this will expand your vision. Not only does the book provide many opportunities to silence those negative assumptions, the exercises are fun.

Artists and tbose who are not artistically inclined!
It was an interesting take, on the concept, of creating art work. Art from anyone, artistic people as well as people who are'nt artistic! Different and interesting!

This was an enormous waste of time and money
Not likely to be a popular review. This was an enormous waste of time and money. I wanted something that did what this one's subtitle suggested "silence my inner critic". What I got was a lot of zen-ish nonsense."Draw with your feet" (seriously it's one of the suggested exercises). "Draw the sound of high heels on the pavement".The only sound advice in the book is "make a goal to fill up your sketchbook". If you already sketch, this is pretty much a waste of time. If you have never drawn and want to start, maybe...but I'd still say it was a lot of nonsense.
