Perfect for Our Primo Round Grill!!
If you have a Primo grill with a ceramic ash grate, then you need this! Even if your ceramic grate hasn't completely broke apart yet, you still need this. This grate is much more solid, and the air flow is what it should be. The grill heats up much faster and food cooks as it should. A significant improvement.

Customer Service
Not a fan and poor customer service. The unit is too heavy and needs to be welded together instead of having to deal with keeping up with two separate pieces. Kick ash separator was lighter and more economical in my option. I contacted seller and they were rude and told me I would have to pay for shipping. To return.

Will not fit Kamado Joe classic
While the build is superb it will not fit my Kamado Joe classic. The divider is too high which makes the divide and conquer rack unstable. It will fit however if you remove the divide and conquer system and use racks directly on top of the ceramic.

Close but no cigar
This looked like it had a lot of promise. However for my Joe Classic Kamodo it was a no go. The bowl in the Kamodo classic is juat a hair too short in diameter. I looked for solutions but only thing I found was I would have to cit the 1 inch steel to make it fit. Don't ha e scissors sharp enough for that. So I sent it back, which ended up costing me the return shipping fee. So at least for Kamodo Classic owners, IT WILL NOT FIT OUT RIGHT. But if your willing to cut it, I'm sure you could make it work.

Great Grate But Be Careful
This is a great grate and it does everything the manufacturer claims that it does. The grate itself, like the vertical divider, is made from heavy gauge steel with a large number of slots very precisely machined into the plate steel apparently using a CNC laser. This grate is much heavier than is the original cast iron grate which came with my large Big Green Egg (BGE). These slots have a MUCH larger open area than do the holes in the original BGE item. This allows a lot more air flow into the BGE's firebox but this produces a couple of side effects.First, with this grate in place you can expect to see much greater temperature swings in the BGE after the fire is lit AND these temperature swings occur much more rapidly. I watched the dial thermometer on my BGE reach 200F and then skyrocket to 700F by the time I could reach down and then put the slotted cast iron chimney top in place. Once the chimney top was in place and the bottom vent partially closed the temperature in the BGE plummeted back down to just over 200F. The temperature then climbed more slowly to the desired temp of 375F. One side effect that I noticed is that the fuel supply is much more prone to bursting into open flame than the same fuel was with the original ash grate in place. It was also much more difficult to get the flames to die out than it used to be with the original grate. I would attribute the easy flames to the greatly increased airflow through the firebox.**** REALLY WATCH OUT FOR THIS **** The lower air vent on my BGE got much, much hotter and stayed hotter throughout the cooking period than it ever had before with the original grate. It got hot enough hat it would actually burn my fingers if I needed to adjust the airflow by moving the stainless steel shutter on the bottom vent. I had been cooking a roast for a little over an hour when I burned my finger adjusting the lower vent. Temp in the BGE at that time was around 325F so this was well past the initial flare up.I also found it much more difficult to regulate the temp in my BGE with the new grate in place. I could still do the regulation but it took much more aggressive use of the vents in the slotted chimney cap and in the lower vent setting. Once up to temp and everything set the temp in my BGE remained rock steady like it always has therefore it's just a matter of me learning what the vent settings are for the various temps that I use to cook the different things but be careful when adjusting that bottom vent.Over all this thing looks and performs like a great product. I doubt that I will ever use the center divider. It is easier to get higher temperatures in the BGE and the BGE seems to maintain whatever temperature you want just like it always has. I have used this grate cooking two meals so far so it's too early to judge whether to not the BGE consumes less fuel with the new grate in place. BTW, I use a mixture of approximately 50% oak chunks and 50% lump charcoal for the main fuel supply. I do use a variety of wood chips sprinkled on top of the fire depending on what I'm cooking and how strong a flavor I want the smoke to impart to that which is being cooked. In short this is a great product and I would buy it again. I will do a six month update on this review.

Allows the hot coals to be stacked all the way to the grate which means its crazy hot and perfect flavor. Indirect works as well
Actually works in my Vision Kamado. Allows the hot coals to be stacked all the way to the grate which means its crazy hot and perfect flavor. Indirect works as well. You can make a small fire down low and it works great for indirect or a medium one too. Im impressed how you can draw air solely form the top if you coals are high enough.Close off the bottom top wide open. Its sweet control.
