Use only as a last resort
I had a case where 3 of my gold laced wyandottes were picking and eating the feathers off of one bird. They then started to do it to the rest of the flock. As a last resort they were going to get the peepers. The peepers can be difficult to put on at first. Its stressful for you and your bird. It goes a lot easier if one person holds the chicken wrapped in a towel and the other person puts the peeper on. I found it easier to install the peepers without the tool. You just pull them apart and clip it in place. If you install it poorly the chickens will kick them off. If you soak them in warm water it makes them more pliable and the chickens can get them off easier. I dont suggest doing that. I put the peepers in near roosting time so that way they could wear it for 6 or 7 hours and get used to it.After peeping my three trouble makers the three alphas became the three bottom chickens. They all hung out together and the pecking 100% stopped. All seemed right in the world and after a week of this i was convinced this was a miracle invention. But all was not well in chicken land. I went to go pick up one of the wyandottes and noticed she was extremely light. All three birds had lost a lot of weight. The birds were not eating or drinking water. Because of the shape of the peepers it doesnt allow them to feed or drink if they are eating/drinking from a typical feeder. You'll need to feed from a trough style feeder with no guard and a open water container which will likely get soiled quickly and need a lot of maintenance.Even worse still one of the hens unbeknownst to us had partially kicked the peeper on her face and partially torn her nostril. This caused the peeper to fall in front of her bill and stop her access to food and water 100% we didnt know until she looked quite awful. I immediately took the peeper off and within 48 hours she was all better but then she started the feather eating again. Conclusion: if you are willing to constantly monitor your birds and willing to change all your feeders these could be a solution to your problem. In the end i ended giving up the birds to someone else. My entire flock is happier and im sure the wyandottes are happier as well. I would not suggest using these unless its a last resort.

They really do work
You may think these to be a little disturbing.... Yet not nearly as upsetting as watching your favorite hen unleash her entire eternal fury on another chicken. Feet first, feathers flying chickens duck+covering. Not a pretty sight. 4 days, maybe 5 and I removed them from her face and nostrils. Things around the coup are quiet. The one hen that was constantly picked on is back with her flock. 101% happy with our results. I keep a pair of peepers hanging on coup door. š check your peeper wearing chickens for weight loss. My hen did loose weight but I removed the the apparatus after 4 or 5 days and quickly regained her normal weight.

Calmed my shrieking banshee hens right down!
These are a lifesaver! I never had an issue with introducing new birds to different flocks. For months I've been trying to integrate some Polish offspring with their parents. My adult hens are shrieking banshees that will go after anyone new! I tried the peepers, and what I saw next, was quite disturbing (in a good way! )Everyone was roosted together at bed time! I usually do integration where they can only see but not get to each other. This time it was a space issue. They can eat and drink with them on, even mate. My hens have stopped shrieking, no more attacking the newbies! Wish I would've given those peepers a go much sooner! They're easy to apply, easy to take off, don't disturb the birds, and most importantly, they do what they supposed to! Awesome buy!

Did not work for me
I needed it for my RIR who has pecked feathers off most of the other girls necks. Well it was too big! I put it on her and she just casually swiped it with her foot and it went flying. My RIr is a decent size bird too.

We call them glasses of shame for our mean chickens.
These worked great on our bully chickens. A few broke before they could be used, but the package contained more than we needed. If you need a specific number, just make sure you order extra.

THEY DO NOT WORK IN MY FLOCKS!!!!
The marketing is really awesome for this product, but they just do not work in my flocks. They fall off faster than you can put them on the chickens.

too big for standard hens
Probably good for roosters but for standard hens the size of these will impede drinking and eating.

Saved the day
They havenāt completely eliminated the aggression, but they have dramatically lessened it so that my rooster isnāt under constant attack. He can even sleep in the house with the original flock now.
