I'm using this for ASUS Chromebook C302CA and Acer Chromebook Spin 13. Both works well.

I'm updating this review due to potential catastrophic power / battery issues with MacBooks.I stopped using this docking station after my first 2020 MacBook Air mysteriously stopped powering on after 2 months. Since the computer would not turn on Apple could not determine the reason it died in time to provide me with answers. Prior to the computer's demise it was used on this docking station to run other peripherals and a 4k monitor. I had a constant issue with my laptop not charging while using the doc or being plugged into the dock overnight. Interestingly, the power would also drain at night while in sleep mode or off. I believe this docking station is pulling power from the computer and not charging it in some circumstances.I just woke up to find my new MacBook at a 72% charge while off all night altering being shut down at 100%. This is similar to what happened to my first computer. So far it has only happened while plugged in to this docking station. I have been using the Apple brand HDMI out until a few days ago with no issues regarding the battery or charging. Now computer 2 is exhibiting the same power issues while plugged into the docking station as computer 1. I would no recommend using this dock with MacBook.

I love this thing.I have only been using it for a small while for my Razer Blade Stealth 2019 and I wanted to start using my primary gaming monitor for video editing and other content creation. My monitor is a dell D2719HGF 144hz and I was blown away that this thing could do 144hz over USB 3.1. For me, that's just awesome!

I am a huge fan of StarTech products and really wanted to like this one to go with my brand new Macbook Pro. Unfortunately it produced a huge kind of ground hum along my recording soft- and hardware. I reached out to StarTech support and they were extremely helpful, talking me through various set-up possibilities. We got one to work temporarily until I had to plug in the next recoding unit which put me right back to square one.They recommended I return it for a replacement. Same thing with the replacement. Not working along my Apogee. I tried new drivers, different outlets, different Thunderbolt ports, splitting ports, everything. Ended up returning the second unit as well and decided to try a smaller, un-powered Thunderbolt dock from the same company. That one works just fine, as it should. Unfortunately it only got 2 USB and 2 HDMI outlets plus 1 Ethernet. It gets hot but at least that one works.
