Best Tom Selleck Role in Years
A good story well told.Well thought out characters, beautiful scenery and dialogue that gives just enough to keep the storyline moving along at a good pace.Tom Selleck makes the role of Jesse Stone his own.

“Tom Selleck in his element”.
The series of Jesse Stone films are a good viewing experience. I liked the setting that being small town Massachusetts in the films but I’m sure they were shot somewhere in Nova Scotia. The plots are good and the cast of characters are solid and made believable by some well established actors with first class acting credentials. But I must say the main character of Jesse Stone fits Tom Selleck like a glove. As with his character of Thomas Magnum they were made for him. I must praise Saul Rubinek for his portrayal of Hasty Hathaway as the smiling schemer. Not the kind of guy I’d buy a car from. Also Stephen McHattie as Boston Homicide Commander Healey. The list goes on a fine performance from the whole cast. So if this is your thing and you like Tom Sellecks style of acting give Jesse Stone a look I’m sure you could do far worse.

Good Old Fashion Suspense Mystery
This was a new series to me, and I was a little apprehensive.Tom Selleck as Magnum PI, which was of course an excellent series, showed more brawn that acting skills. What a wonderful surprise to find that he is a good actor after all.The series is actually very basic. Cop with bad drinking problem (Selleck) moves to a new location and becomes chief of police. Boring? Heck no. A town mystery involves him in all sorts of human drama's and presents the reason for him to question his life. There is a place for tears - his companion of ten years (dog) has to be euthanasiaed, a discovery of treachery and questions, questions, questions. The story grips you and keeps you enthralled to the end.The time spent watching was well worth it, as were the follow ups that I have been able to acquire. Not a high powered blood and guts series, just good old fashion skulduggery and murder most foul. If you enjoy mystery and suspense, with a touch of human drama, a good series to add to your collection.

You Sexy Thing
Another very good episode of Jesse Stone. I can understand why many middle-aged women like him and find him sexy as he exudes a form of controlled dependability and is completely without sleaze. The stories lines are good and well-acted set in believable locations. My only criticism is that I wish he would show more consideration towards his dog. I am not being flippant. I think that a fully developed male; as Selleck purports to be, would understand that we share this planet with animals and kidnap certain animals to become our companions. This is the only fault with Selleck's performance, a lack of compassion towards the miracle of nature. But there again, he plays a drunk on the rebound from a divorce, living alone far from his roots and is so weak that he has to telephone her every night to check that his mental strength is okay.Mind you, he manages to get his leg over many women throughout the series so some women go for his `take' on being a bloke. In short - a well-acted film in the Jesse Stone series about a maverick Cop, lovelorn, living in a backwater without a care in the world except those of everyone he meets.

Brilliant scripts and cinematography
I've now seen 4 of the Jesse Stone series of 'tv movies', and I can thoroughly recommend it. It is SUPERB, well-made, intelligently written television, that has the look and feel of a great cinema movie.I think this is ALL due to the fact that as well as being the lead character, Tom Selleck also controls much of the production and scripts, based on very good novels. I suspect he also carefully control who else is cast, and everyone is believable, and play their roles superbly. A special mention for Kathy Baker, who was of course in 'Picket Fences', another superb seriesYou DO need to buy the DVDs in the correct order, as some stories cross-over with earlier ones, so to do this you need to carefully read the synopsis BUT note one of the (later) DVDs in the series is a pre-quel, so buy that first !100% recommended.

Based on the book.
Although the premise of a disgraced cop with issues is common these Jesse Stone stories are well presented and worth watching. Not too much swearing etc. This is the second film but is actually the first book so it is presented as a “prequel” to the second film “Stone Cold”. There are 8 films in total.

Great viewing!
Covers pretty much the same line as the excellent book and uses much of the dialogue from it.Selleck's performance is commanding - and droll, as Stone, albeit he is somewhat old for the part, however I can't of any other actor who could bring the necessary 'weight' to the role as he does. The ending differs from the book BUT given the book's ending that isn't surprising as economies would necessarily have precluded the extra plotting.I thoroughly enjoyed it.

great
in my humble opinion tom selleck doesn't make a bad film or TV seriesbasic profileJesse stone is fired from a major American city police force due to beingdrunk on the job, he applies and gets the position of police chief in a tiny towncalled PARADISE with a population of just under 1000, he has a staff of 3-4and mostly they deal with small crimes. Obviously he's over qualified for the jobbut gets to grips with it, his drinking is his demon though he doesn't drink on the job he does in the home, also every day he talks to his ex wife jenny on the phone, he has numerousrelationships one ends in tragedya great riveting tv movies

I had copies of all of this series and couldn't find this copy. Of course, after I got it my lost copy showed up but that's okay, I gave the extra one to my daughter.

BUEN PRODUCTO Y RAPIDA ENTREGA
