Great collection, but NOT for beginners!
There are a few “easy” piano pieces in this book, but mostly, it is intermediate to advanced. For example, the first movement of Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” can easily be played by a beginner, but the rest of the piece cannot be considered “beginner level”. The book features some other easy pieces, but you have to sort through them to find something on an easy level. It would have been good to have sections in the book, sorting out the levels for you. On the other hand, you can just ask your piano teacher to suggest a few pieces from the book that would be on your level. Overall, though, the book has a great selection of very popular classical pieces that every pianist should know. You will just have to work your way through them, building on each level. If you are looking for a good standard collection, this book is great! It is difficult to get it to stay open on a music stand, but you can fix that problem by just getting a music book clip. I got some nice metal ones here on Amazon.

Product description does not include complete list of contents.
This has a lot of nice pieces in it and as a beginner adult learner, I can pick them out.My only complaints with this book (or, really, its Amazon listing): It came up in a search on Amazon when I was looking for an intermediate arrangement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, but this book does NOT contain that specific piece. Since the Amazon listing doesn't (or did not, at the time) have a complete table of contents, I couldn't verify whether it was there or not; because I couldn't find any other intermediate arrangements of the piece, I went ahead and bought the book, so while I am going to enjoy playing pieces from it, that was disappointing. For a book that contains 97 pieces, many of which seem not to be readily available as stand-alone sheet music, it would be really helpful to have the full list in the product description. (I had been playing this arrangement: https://www.amazon.com/Moonlight-Sonata-Easy-Favorite-Alexander/dp/1585605522 and later ended up with this arrangement: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0739012584/ )

Great for the moderately-experienced pianist.
Short Version: Less "Easy" and More "Intermediate", but great collection!Long Version: Two years ago, my mom bought me a keyboard for Christmas and had it shipped to my house. As a child I had several years of piano lessons, but that was back in the '90s. After going through most of the sheet music I had hoarded in my house in the hopes I would eventually play piano again, I decided it was time to buy a book of classics. As a whole, I think this is a wonderful compilation of many familiar and not-so-familiar pieces. I have found pieces that were fairly easy for me to sightread through the first time, but there are also pieces that I would classify as advanced. When I look through the book, there are several pieces that I find too intimidating to even try (yet!).I highly recommend this compilation as a great way to challenge an intermediate pianist to improve their abilities. I could see how a beginner may become frustrated at the complexity of some of the pieces in the book. Also, the pieces are not listed in the book in an increasingly-difficult order (which I personally would have liked to see), so you have to flip through to find something you're ready to tackle.I'm looking forward to continuing to develop my ability and someday conquering this entire thing!

A fantastic book of the easier of the great classics
I would give this book 5 stars, because I LOVE it, but I am aware that the title "Easy" may be misleading to the sorts of beginners that buy other books named "Easy".To really enjoy this book, you need a certain level of knowledge in musical theory, e.g. understanding the various different symbols for the trills and also a solid rhythm to cope with timing when, e.g. triplets are used in one hand against 2 quavers in the other. Also, it makes a difference if you are familiar with some of these pieces - they are very famous and well-known to anyone who listens to classical music, but perhaps not to someone who only listens to more modern music.I played the piano for 10 years, to performance standard, but then gave it up for 12 years and I'm only just playing again now, very rustily! This book is perfect for me, to give me some easy music to relearn this versatile instrument. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves classical music but is at a standard where they are looking for the easier pieces in this genre.

An Excellent, Varied Collection
This anthology has a wide variety of composers, from five centuries and several countries. There is a wide variety of styles and moods, and even the easier pieces are of good quality. However, the title is mistaken. These pieces range from an intermediate to upper intermediate level-and saying that it is for early to intermediate players is misleading.

Beautiful Collection, But NOT Easy.
I read all of the reviews before purchasing, so I knew these arrangements probably weren't going to be easy. I decided to go ahead and purchase it anyway for 2 reasons. #1- Even though I've only been playing the piano for 5 months, I've been playing other instruments for 20 years, and I figured I would be able to work through tough pieces of music. #2- I know I'll want and need more advanced music at some point, this is a great collection, and the price is right.I just opened my package, thumbed through the book, and my eyes popped ouf my head! Lol These works don't look simplified AT ALL..like...AT ALL. That fact both surprises me and excites me. I will be spending lots of time working on this book because it will definitely be a challenge. And you know what? That's not a bad thing. I'm glad I bought it.

Not for beginners.
Let's start with this book is not easy. This book is very very difficult except for a couple and I mean a couple. maybe about 5 pushing it. all the rest is very difficult. I can guess is about grade 6. Maybe 5.But anyway have it. Maybe in the future I will be able to play it.

Not easy.
Excellent delivery. Tunes are not ‘easy’, I have not the competence to play any of them. Big disappointment.
