Electra Townie Silver Alloy Rack

I recently bought my first new bike in decades, an Electra Townie. It is a very comfortable bike and there is no worry about seat pressure on the tender parts. It feels like I am riding a motorcycle as the pedals are about 6+ inches forward of standard bikes. The seat is lower and further back, so it is easy to reach the ground. The pedals are far enough away and you sit upright so your neck doesn't get tired. Plus you can see easier around you. It is almost a cross between a recliner and a cruiser. The rack is designed for the Electra Townie and flows with the frame curves. However it needed to be flexed slightly to fit onto the bike. The proper sized screws came with the rack. The buffed silver color looks great against the deep blue of the Townie 21D (21 speed derailer). It will fit the saddlebag from "Old Blue"(The old bike). The Townie is pre-drilled and tapped for this rack as well, which is a big savings of time to install and gives a cleaner appearance overall. It takes only one American Standard Allen Wrench to completely install it. Plus it was much less expensive than at a bike shop even if you didn't have to wait for it to be shipped to them. Get it yourself unless you don't have tools.

Received the rack on one day, put it on the same day; been riding ever since. It was easy to install, and holds the bag I bought for it perfectly. Will order the panniers too. I do need to move the reflector from the back of the seat of my Townie to the back of the rack, but that is not a big deal. Looks great!!

This is a solid addition to maintain the aesthetics of your Townie while adding a bit more utility. The quality is fine, the appearance is good but the price compared to third party competitors is high.

I use this on my Electra Townie 3i. Very light, easy to attach, and sturdy. I attach a bike pack to it for long rides, and when I'm not carrying the pack I keep a small bungie cord wrapped around it so I can strap on my sweater, last minute pick-ups, etc.

But it didn't fit the bike which is an Electra but I didn't make sure to get the model right.

This rack fits my Elektra perfectly and was super easy to install. The aluminum finish is appealing and works with my retro green paint job.

I purchased this rack for my Townie. I like how it's a perfect fit and matches the metal on my bike. I mounted an old, wood crate to it, which looks pretty sweet with my bike. :)
