Know what's in your water
This book was very informative about how polluted our water supply is whether you are drinking city water, well water, or pond water. The author makes a very sound argument for using distilled water based its purity and health benefits. He shared some amazing stories about his own healing using distilled water. The author is not a doctor, but has done a lot of good research about water quality and has a lot of experience using distilled water over 40 years. The only thing I did not find in this book is a review or comparison of different types of distillers that are on the market.

Distilled Water has great benefits for your body!
I really enjoyed this book. I was looking more for the benefits of drinking distilled water, but there is additional information to be had here in regards to tap water safety and how organic versus inorganic minerals work. Some of the info here may be anecdotal, but that's okay with me. I've been drinking primarily distilled water now for nearly two months, 60-80 ounces a day and have seen real benefits. Weight loss, increased and more consistent energy, I feel more rested while getting the same amount of sleep, a significant reduction in cravings for salty and sugary foods, and many more things.

It will taste good, clean out your body of inorganic minerals and ...
get a countertop water distiller as soon as you can. It will taste good, clean out your body of inorganic minerals and improve your health. You have no idea what is in the water coming out of your tap and simple carbon filters do not catch it all, and when they become foul, you are then drinking worse than tap water. Remember, they gave the concentration camps fluoride to keep them calm and gassed them with chlorine gas...your drinking water has pharmaceuticals and chemicals from corporation dumps. Learn what to say to people that tell you the myth that distilled water cleans your body out of all minerals.

Excellent book
An eye opener. It just makes so much sense. I started to increase my water intake and have seen dramatic change. Weight loss, more movement in my joints without pain not needing to take pain meds and having less pain from fibromyalgia. They key is like Mr. Hoover says you have to prepare yourself mentally to live a HEALTHY life and stick to pure water. It's made a difference in my life as well as my husband's

POLLUTION FREE WATER
Important topic. It is common knowledge that most municipal and private water supplies are severely polluted. Only a quarter of the 82,000 chemicals in use have been tested. Steam distillation is the most effective way to remove everything from water. Theoretically, pure distilled water or demineralised water should be neutral in pH value (i.e. pH 7). Carbonic acid is formed when carbon dioxide of the air (0.03% by volume) dissolves in water. Freshly distilled water may reach an acidic pH in a very short time with 0.22 parts per million - See "WATER STILLS Technical Note: T11-001" Distilled water detoxifies. Water is also a good solvent due to its polarity. When an ionic or polar compound enters water, it is surrounded by water molecules. When demineralised or distilled water is ingested, the saliva has to add electrolytes (mineral ions such as 15 to 30.40 mM/L potassium, 1.5 to 100 meq/ml sodium, and 5.10 mM/L up to 40.60 mM/L Bicarbonate) to this water first. Saliva and seawater contains 15 mEq/ml sodium chloride (877 mg/L divided by 58.5= 15 meq/ml)(equates to 30 mOsmol/L) (See "Calculating Osmolarity of an IV Admixture" ). Distilled water may reduce water content inside body cells. If the cell has a higher salt concentration than the distilled water, the water will rush into the cell causing the cell to swell up - Normal osmolarity of blood/serum is about 300-310 mOsm/L which would require 154 mEq/L sodium chloride. Very hypotonic IV solutions containing 34 mEq/L sodium chloride (NaCl 0.2%) equating to 69 mOsm/L causes red blood cells to swell and burst. See "Hypotonic Shocking of Cells in Water Droplets". To prevent hypotonic shock, the distilled water will take minerals away from the body reserves - See "Health Risks From Drinking Demineralised Water - world health". Hence, the authors mineral reserve allows him to drink distilled water without adding electrolytes. See "consumption of low tds water" "SCIENCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE" for support for the author. There is some who attempt to remineralize their distilled water, see "HOW TO ADD ELECTROLYTES TO WATER" "Water--The Choice for Long-Term Health" This issue needs to be clarified. All information is intended for your general knowledge only and is not a substitute for medical advice.

Truth Enables Better Health
Douglas Hoover addresses a controversial issue from his own experience in life. Although not everyone will agree with his point of view, he offers information that those who want to be healthy should seriously consider. He also provides knowledgeable resources that will enable one to discover the difference between fact and fiction. I recommend this book to those who are truly interested in living a healthy lifestyle.

Okay
Okay, but a bit weak on the science. The author bashes other alternative health programs/philosophies, but does not seem to scientifically back up his own philosophies either (beyond his own personal positive experiences, and few potential common sense logics).E.g. he claims that minerals in water are inorganic, and hence cannot be utilized by the bodyat all! Well, as far as I am aware e.g. silica in mineral water is great to bind to and help the body excrete aluminum. Also since many humans evolved drinking from springs, and rivers (not just rain, snow or glacier water), I assume that the body has adapted to minerals on water too.Obvs the potential quality of drinking water on this planet is another issue, and destillation might very well be clever. And the book has helped me alliviate some fears about drinking distilled water, that I had before.

Distilled water - the purest, most wonderful thing you can use to improve your health.
Brilliant book. I tested our tap water and it went black! I was horrified and now I only make and drink distilled water. I didn't know this healthy alterative existed until I read the book. I would really encourage everyone to use distilled water from now on.
