It was purchased as a gift and the recipient loved it.

I have hiked & camped the Adirindacks & been to many of the destinations here.Excellent reading on not only the scenery, experiences but also lessons learned.

Being an enthusiastic mountain hiker myself I found this book to be a captivating read. I enjoyed the unique perspectives of all the contributors. Inspiring. I wanted to lace up my boots and go for a long to hike to high places!

Adirondack Peak Experiences was just as the title implies; real life experiences by persons who have pursued "The 46", not all are written by professional writers, but they are honest accounts. The book is well organized and easy to read.

The book is an interesting compilation of TRUE stories written and documented by experienced Adirondack hikers. Probably the toughest mountain range to conquer.

When I picked up this book I was hoping for tales that would make me feel like I was in the Adirondacks, reveling in the beauty and even the danger of the adventure. It wasn't really fulfilling to read, though. It was actually kind of dull. There were a few good stories, but it just wasn't good storytelling. I liked At the Mercy of the Mountains much better.
