Not that tough
Unfortunatly, there is no Easy Wednesday book. I love the paper and I love the spiral and I love the cost. For the most part, there aren't any stupid puzzles that expect you to put two letters in one box, or a symbol in a box without any notice. There was one puzzle that used northeast and southeast that we decided to just not fool with and skipped it. A few of them had a theme that actually didn't seem to have anything to do with the puzzle! We get tired of all the New York stuff. Are there any puzzle books for the rest of the country?????

I'm surprised this has as good of reviews as it does
I'm surprised this has as good of reviews as it does. Mostly the puzzles are okay but many of the clues felt like they were above Tuesday level. It's frustrating when there are multiple obscure pop culture/fine arts clues that intersect in one area so you can't even figure out what they might be from the other answers. I would expect this more from a Wednesday level puzzle. It means I can never fully complete a puzzle which really diminished the satisfaction. I ordered the Monday crosswords as well so I'll be interested to see how it compares.

Interesting -
I dislike crosswords with lots of references to foreign-language words - this book of crosswords had only a few. Generally the puzzles were easy, but too often I ended up with a few scattered unfilled squares, often related to obscure words. Anyway, have now finished all 75 puzzles and begun the Wednesday puzzle book.

Enjoyable
Well, they are crossword puzzles. They ran on Tuesdays. What more can I say? Actually, I had hoped it would be a book I could carry in my pocket, but at 9 1/2 by 6 1/2 it is not convenient. Difficult enough that I have to actually work them instead of just put in the answers--but not so hard as to be frustrating.

Good... but puzzles from the 90s.
For a book that came out in 2012, I was expecting newer puzzles -- these ran in the NYT from 1996 - 1998. That was nearly two decades ago, and means that many of the clues regarding actors and cultural figures from the past have gone from being challenging to simply esoteric and irritating. Lots of cultural references from the 40s and 50s.The puzzles are a high quality, but I'd enjoy it much more if they published within the last decade.

Small print, not as enjoyable as the omnibus series for ease of reading and writing. But if you need a smaller book, it’s fine

Doesn’t highlight the themed clues
The puzzles they’ve chosen exclude the types of puzzles with circled boxes, and they don’t bother to shade the themed clues. Book is also pretty small

I wanted to get some easy puzzles to do and decided to try these
I wanted to get some easy puzzles to do and decided to try these. I am not a regular crossword enthusiast and found that I could rarely complete even half the individual puzzle. Perhaps for someone who does these all the time, they would be easy.
