Thor & Loki: In the Land of Giants [A Norse Myth] (Graphic Myths and Legends)

In my younger years I loved reading Greek, Roman, Arabian and Norse mythological stories. I have noticed that many of these tales are now being published in graphic novel formats which really bring the stories to life.I have begun to purchase several of these classic ancient stories lately. I just read Thor and Loki: in the land of giants, which is an Old Norse myth. Thor and Loki are brothers. Thor is the God of thunder and Loki is known as the trickster. In this story Thor basically thinks physical strength always wins out, but Loki thinks brains are more important than physical strength. Like many of these ancient tales there is a lesson that is taught in these stories.This tale is organized into seven areas: A visit from the Gods, into the land of giants, Skrymir, the home of the frost giants, The challenge of the giants, Thor must win, and the truth. There is also a glossary and pronunciation guide and a further reading and website section along with an index. The art work is fantastic and makes the story come alive.If you are into mythology and graphic novels you should check out this publication.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Bought these for my nephew who is young and loves comic books, manga & graphic novels. He's very pleased with them and I've also enjoyed reading them with him.

Une histoire intéressante des dieux nordiques que je ne connaissais pas.Très agréable à lire.Pour les francophones : avec un niveau correct en anglais, la lecture est plutôt simple, surtout grâce aux dessins.

A quick read. Well drawn and written. Familiar characters and a back story explained. Not sure how much reread value there is, but worth reading once if you like myths and legends.
