Many years ago, as an adult, I received this book from my cousin with a note of gratitude for our friendship. Embracing the sentiment of being grateful for another human, I’ve gifted this book to as many adults as I have expecting mothers and newborns. The flow of the writing, its beautiful illustrations and educational/scientific details at the end make this book appropriate for all ages. A cherished book to have received, and one I love to give.

I have used this book across ages - from infants to preschool to adult activities such as retreats. It is a perfect baby shower gift. The text has a lovely cadence for reading to the very youngest of children and the art is great. Recent editions have added appropriate educational information. I just bought it for a woman turning 70 expecting her first grandchild.

We got this book when our son was born in 1998. We read it to him every day for the first few months of his life, so much that I could recite it. I now give each new baby in my life a copy of this book. It is a classic!

I’ve loved this book for many years and given it as a gift many times. This one says it has bonus audio but I don’t see any. I would have contacted seller to discuss before review but couldn’t find a place on the product page to do so

I received this as a gift when I was pregnant with my first child and now give it to every expecting Mother I know - the artwork is beautiful and the story is so touching, wonderful gift to give and receive.

Purchased this book for my newborn grandson (it's one of many I've given to children).It's just beautiful - the story just makes me cry with joy and love.

A very small board book sent, not at all the book I had originally, which was georgeous. The picture looked as if it was the same as the one I had originall, and there was no other choice. .Very disappointed as it had been a book I loved, but had been lost in the house move. This was more like a book you would give a young child- does not do justice to the beautiful words.

I am glad the copy that I have is hardbound book. Although I did not like the book at all, I am certain the book will last long. Maybe next time, I will be able to appreciate the book a little more. For me, the words per page are plenty and the pictures are looking a little like abstract drawings. Not my cup of tea, yet try and see for yourself.

I don't know why but it makes me cry every time I read it to my daughter. I really love it.

Love this story !!We're a family who loves space and science but it's also a lovely story that my 3 month old loves to listen to. A win-win all round.

I have to say it brought a tear to my eye when I read this book and I know my niece will love it when her baby daughter is born soon.
