Excellent GPS for sports
I bought the Canmore GP-102+ for windsurfing. It's an excellent and accurate little device. It requires a waterproof bag for windsurfing or swimming, since the water-proofing is limited. I often use aLOKSAK bags (high-quality ziplock bags) and a cheap iPhone armband, or a waterproof armband. The unit definitely logs doppler speeds, although it does not log precision data. Comparison tests that I and many others did have proven it to be as accurate as the previous gold standard, the Locosys GT-31 (which is not produced anymore). It has officially been accepted at one of the GPS speed surfing sites, the GPS Team Challenge. Inofficially,it's also ok to post results at GPS-speedsurfing.com, as long as you don't claim new records.I like that the unit is small an cheap. I have also used it for biking, by just attaching it with some velcro to the handlebars. For windsurfing, the small screen size is a small drawback, since I cannot read the speed while sailing. But checking top speeds during a break usually is no problem, and I'm mostly interested in evaluation tracks on my computer when I get home, using software like GPS Action Pro or GPSResults.

Good value. Seems solid.
Pros:Small.Displays time and lat/lon.Can be set to record at 1-second intervals.Seems to have large recording capacity. At least 42,000 samples. (Have not tested for maximum.)Battery life is at least 14 hours while recording. (Have not tested for maximum.)Reasonably resilient to water. (Have not tested more than hiking in mist.)Seems to have good GPS accuracy. (Have not fully characterized it yet in cities and under dense forest. But its (Kalman?) filter is superior to a Surf3 GPS watch I have when at rest and slightly better in motion.)OK:Presentation as USB drive. But track data is in .FIT format. And other files are undocumented, binary format.Cons (all are less important to me than any of the "Pros"):Does not indicate storage capacity and current usage.Two-button user interface is slow and tedious. Press-hold needed too often. Expect button life-time issues.User interface not optimized for always-recording when powered on. And not optimized for showing time/date/lat/lon.When connected as a USB drive, does not show if fully charged.Con, but do not matter to me at all. YMMV:Non-functional PC software crashes on Win7/64.Documentation could use some work.

Absolute Garbage
This logger is completely worthless. The software does not work with Windows 10 and the '.fit' file format is not usable in either Windows nor Linux systems. Sadly, the updated software does not even recognize the device and can only connect to a serial device; the virtual com driver does not work on any version of windows. The unit failed to work with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, and Debian Linux. The included software requires '.gpx' files but the device only logs in useless '.fit' files.Do not waste your time with this scam of a device.

It's cheap and not 100% reliable.
This thing provides some functionality, along with endless frustration. I use it to record locations and later geotag my photos while on vacation. It will usually keep a charge for an entire day of driving/hiking, but it's tricky to charge it up again. Once it's fully charged, it will stop charging and start depleting the battery, so it might not be full when you start the day, and then it will go dead before the day is over. I've used it on a few vacations now, and it seems like I usually end up with a few bad files once the trip is over -- hopelessly damaged, maybe an entire day of tracks that I just have to throw away. It only has about 3 megabytes of memory (the size of two floppy disks... seriously you couldn't add just a little more?) and get this: when the memory gets full, it keeps acting like it's recording your tracks, and never gives you a warning, but then you get home and you have a bunch of 0 byte files.Oh, and the included software is worthless, and constantly crashed on two different computers that I tried it on. You can plug in the unit and download the .FIT files, then run them through an online converter to change them to GPX or some other, more usable format. When measuring distances on hikes, it consistently returns a longer distance than the trail signs indicate. However, when it works, and when the files aren't corrupted, it does seem to accurately record the position where I took photos.

Small, accurate portable GPS
I bought the GP-102+ to record tracks and mileage while bicycling. The unit is very small (shirt pocket size), has good battery life, and provides accurate tracking. Importantly, for me, the user has direct access to its files for downloading. No additional software or drivers are needed (with Windows 10). I have not tried the included software. I download the files (Garmin FIT format) and view them using the free GPXSee software, which includes a variety of maps.

This is a decent product and unfortunately about the only thing that will do the job.
What I needed was a GPS recording device that I carried with me to just record the time and date of where I take my DSLR photos. It works just fine for that, I later download the data to my laptop and match it with camera times on the photos. The ONLY problem (besides the pain of a 2 button interface) is the relatively limited recording memory. It is only good for a bit longer than a day (depending to some extent on your settings). So I have to have a laptop to download the data to be ready for the next day.

Odd but effective
This thing has really been great as a simple tracking tool for gecoding photos after a long trip. It certainly beats my Android phone for GPS sensitivity. Face it, it's dated technology and the software is clumsy and non-intuitive, but if you can work around the warts it does the job.

Very easy to use and a great size if you want it with you all the time. Loads of good and interesting features. It seems accurate too. Very pleased with it. Has the additional jogging feature which makes it perfect for all round use.

Excellent little gadget
I have purchased this device to help keep track of an extensive 3-week tour, and to reference geographic location of photographs. To test it, I took it out camping, and used it on foot and bike trails. The device functioned perfectly. The controls are relatively simple, and the screen a bit too small, and difficult to see in sunlight, but shielding it or going into the shade helps. The photographs, when imported into my laptop and co-ordinated with the provided software were positioned exactly on a google map.
