Definitely durable and my dog loves it!
I honestly cannot say if this is good for teething, as my dog is an adult, but I'd say most likely it would work fine. It IS very durable. My dog zeroed in on the trunk straight away and continues to try and rip it off, like he's trying to cut off its nose to spite its face. However, it is to no apparent avail since this elephant just ain't havin it. My dog has no problem with eating habits; I simply got this as a distraction for when he's in his crate when I leave for awhile. Watching my camera playback, it seems to do the trick, since he'll panic for a minute then turns his attention to that always enticing and for whatever reason, extremely condescending, trunk. He eats small kibble anyway, so it is incredibly easy to fill the ball after cutting two of the pieces off from around the hole. He doesn't even seem to care that there's food in there; it is simply an added bonus to him when the elephant rewards him for trying to kill it. I am pleased with this toy because he hasn't been able to destroy it within the first minute of playing with it. He is a border collie/ hound and he only has a handful of soft toys left that he has not meticulously unraveled with his little squirrel teeth. Since this is a rubber ball, along the lines of Kong material but softer, there are no loose threads for him to be angry with and pull apart. Only that blasted trunk that just gets under his skin for some reason.

A great alternative to a slow-feeder bowl
We own 2 of these now, cow & elephant, and they are brilliant treat balls. I use them to dispense my dog’s kibble at mealtime. He, a 21 lb Beagle/Terrier cross, used to use a slow feeder bowl so he wouldn’t inhale his food but with time he mastered that and I turned to these treat balls, which he loves. Instead of inhaling his dinner in under 20 seconds, he has 15-20 minutes of fun rolling this around while his kibble is dispensed. Other reviewers have complained about a smell...in my experience all new rubber has an odor but this item is top-rack dishwasher safe and washing it does remove the odor. I love being able to run it thru the dishwasher as it does get disgusting being rolled about the floor while covered in saliva. By trimming the fins inside the treatball you can customize it so it is releasing whatever you put inside at the rate you desire. Our 1st one, the cow, has been in use for 2 years now and still looks as good as new. I highly recommend this product.

She loves it.
I have a 3yo pibble who loves this toy. She is an avid chewer and I have had this for 2 weeks and still going.I put some kibble in it but the hole is so small it just rattles around in there. I am happy that she is happy just chewing away on the soft durable rubber. No little chunks broken off, no bloody gums from hard plastic, just the soft slobbery sound of her joy.

Not For My Purposes
I use a variety of toys and chews to feed my dogs to keep them busy while I'm working from home. This one is a smidge too difficult for them, so food tends to go to waste in it. That's alright. It works well for treats, and it has survive two sets of sharp puppy teeth.

Keeps your dog busy
Bought for our puppy and it would keep her busy for hours while I did things around the house. And she was not able to chew it up into tiny pieces. It is a very durable toy.

Made My Dog Sick
Seemed like this was going to be great except it had a VERY strong petroleum smell, so I ran it through the dishwasher on a super clean/sanitize cycle. It still smelled the same. My dog enjoyed it for the afternoon then the next day she was throwing up and had diarrhea. I think it must just be too full of strong chemicals for my senior dog.

FINALLY! Found the best!
I have tried every treat dispensing toy imaginable and either the hole is too big for the food to dispense or the hole is too small or there's too many holes so all the food dumps out. I love this concept! Trim the barnacles on the inside of the hole to what suits your food or your treat that's going to be dispensed. I have a very active Australian Shepherd cattle dog mix that is also very smart to figure these out but with the trimming I can make it more challenging by keeping the hole a little more closed for her to work at it. I don't know how chew resistant these are because she doesn't chew at it she rolls it all around to get the treat to dispense and then she will pick it up and drop it to try to get the treat to dispense. Going on 1 hour and she is still amused and going at it. She's busy and Mom can get busy at some housework without having to entertain her now 😄🥳 I do wish they made an even larger ball same everything but just larger. This ball I would say is about tennis ball size.

Our dog loves this toy!
We put small treats like Cheerios in the bowl and he will chase it around the floor for a long time to get them out. When he thinks they are all gone he brings us the ball for more. He likes it so much that I bought two more in the larger size so we could put his kibble food in and motivate him to eat when he doesn't want to eat from the bowl.At first, we had to watch him to keep him from chewing on it when it was empty, but now he just asks for more treats to be put in.
