Best gift ever!
This is extremely durable and the multiple latches, hooks and closures will entertain your toddler for hours. I bought this as a birthday gift for my two year old granddaughter when she turned one year old. To this day it is one of her favorite learning toys.Helps to improve manual dexterity. Its colorful and it was a hit with her and her cousins! My daughter had heard about this from one of her friends that has young children and highly recommended this product/learning toy.If you are looking for something unique, colorful and will also teach your child while having fun…this is the gift to buy!

Love this board!
The media could not be loaded. The colors are vibrant, it's well made, and my 2 year old loves figuring it out. Great for Montessori families. The only thing I could "complain" about (though it's not a big deal and doesn't hinder play) is the doors stick the littlest bit on the #3 yellow door and #6 orange door. The lock on the #3 yellow door also looks like it was put on there sideways(see in picture) but again no big deal and doesn't hinder play. It still functions properly just needs the littlest bit of effort to push those 2 doors closed. Overall it's a great toy. Highly recommend!

Excellent to keep my dad with dementia busy!
I bought this activity board for my father who is 86 years old and suffers from dementia. As anyone who is familiar with dementia knows, it causes constant fidgeting. My dad was constantly touching and fidgeting with all kinds of things and then misplacing or hiding them. I started looking for something to keep him occupied, but when I looked for activity boards for seniors with dementia, they were extremely expensive, starting at $50 and sometimes over $100. Then I found this board for $15, and although it is targeted towards kids and toddlers, it has worked beautifully for my dad. It is well made, durable, and it keeps him busy, and it is harder for him to misplace or break (people with dementia become very destructive), and it saved me so much money. If your looking for something to keep a senior with dementia busy, this is so worth the money! As a side note, when my toddler nephews visit, they love playing with it too.

Not just for aspiring burglars and escape artists!
My two year old loves this! My kiddo is dexterous like you wouldn't believe, and has a passion for opening and closing doors as well as removing covers and lids (electrical socket safety plugs, the backs of remotes, change purses, bottle tops, baby wipes) and opening clasps (wallet, watches, bracelets). If your child is the type who's always looking for new and exciting ways to raise your blood pressure with feats of exquisite motor control, this latchboard is a great way to redirect that energy and curiousity.I remember reading some horrified parent exclaim that perhaps teaching young kids to open latches and locks is a dangerous idea, but realistically speaking - the latches featured here probably aren't used in a safety capacity anyway. (Unless you hide your dynamite behind a miniature chain locked door. And you might want to rethink that.)The thing is also virtually indestructable. I can say this with confidence because it was "tested" by the brats next door, and those boys could destroy a padded cell. The colors and pictures are bright and appealing, too; it's remarkably well made.My only beef is the cost of Melissa and Doug products, but since it's hand made I can understand why it's necessary. Keep up the fine work, guys.

Image was ripped off
I love the idea of this busy board to teach kids how to open latches and basic locks and work on their finger dexterity. You can also place photos behind the doors to make it more interesting for the toddler. This would even be a good toy for a parrot. The main issue I had was that it arrived damaged. The image was ripped off and this seems to have happened during production. They covered it up with a piece of paper (the paper label was not glued on in anyway; it was just placed on top of the damaged area) and sealed the product in plastic wrap. The plastic wrap was also not damaged so I know this didn’t somehow occur during shipping.

Girls Love it.
My girls are two yrs old and one is always, always fiddling with things trying to figure out how they work and is just fascinated. I found this latch board and thought it was perfect for her. She absolutely loves it. Now if I could just find something similar with zippers, buttons, and tabs...etc.*** Please note the recommended age for this toy is 3+ but I know my girls and felt this toy was age appropriate for them. That being said, I am considering an option to mount to the wall to avoid any accidents. If this toy were to be picked up and hurled across the room or used to smack another child it would most definitely cause some damage.~ Sturdy. Made of layered wood.~ Colorful. Not painted - the picture is a paper-like applique and now shows wear on the edges. But overall is holding up very well.~ Hardware is REAL hardware and is strong and sturdy. Each are different and not overly stiff or hard to function so little hands should have no problems using on their own.~ No screws. Hardware is riveted on.~ No rough edges.~ More than just latches.....the doors open and inside there is the coordinating color and a picture with the corresponding number on the door. So not only are they learning fine motor skills and dexterity from the hardware, there are also learning numbers and colors.Overall, I really love this toy. My girls love this toy. I would recommend to a friend.
