Like vegetable broth
I was expecting more in depth. It is very simple, too simple in fact... It is filled with basic recipies with ingredients I would not give my dogs. Like vegetable broth? Most of that contains onions and onion powder which you should never give your dog.Plus adding corn meal and yeast is just an unnecessary filler and you mine as well give store bought food because that's what it is filled with. This is a vegan dog book but NOT a healthy vegan dog book. Kinda wish I could get my $7 back, that could have went to me buying good wholesome sweet potatoes for my poochies for a nutritional dense dog food or treats.

Great Book
After my conversion to veganism a little over three months ago, I decided to try it for my dogs. They already love raw fruits and vegetables, rice and beans. They go nuts for broccoli, every part of it. They have been turning down the premium meat-based dog kibble/cans half the time. One of my dogs is already vegetarian due to her high liver enzymes. I think that the store-bought dog food is just not fresh enough for them. This book is excellent as it contains a large selection of wonderful food combinations that are not that hard to make and your dogs will love them! This evening they are getting Snoopy's Great Pumpkin Rice and Beans. There are other recipes that I can't wait to try with oatmeal and fruit. Two of my dogs are big breakfast eaters but the third one came in this morning to see what I was giving the other two and had to have some. Her recommendations on storing the food (measuring it out and freezing it) are very helpful.Something not mentioned in the book that I am also doing is putting chlorella and wheat germ on their food. They love this and I am getting another supplement called mash from the same company. After seeing pictures of rescued and rehabilitated goats from the Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita, CA who consumed sun chlorella food (see link below), I was convinced of its effectiveness. [...]

Useful resource
The book claims it won't address why to consider having your dog go vegan, but it does anyway (which I found informative). The book consists primarily of recipes, most of which I'll never make because of the effort. However, I found the guidelines on which ingredients to use and which are toxic (chocolate is only the beginning!) extremely useful. There are also good suggestions for outside resources, which introduced me to a vegan kibble (by V-dog) my dog much prefers over conventional dog food, so I'm especially grateful for that. The book is fairly brief, making it an easy read in one sitting.

Fine for small dogs
This book has no nutritional information with the recipes, so no way to size them up (or down) appropriately for multiple or bigger dogs. They seem geared towards small dogs, generally. I can't really use this for my three greyhounds. At least not yet, since I haven't fully learned just how much of a given ingredient my dogs need in a meal. There also are no claims that the meals are balanced, or what might be needed to make them so (taurine, l-carnitine, various vitamins or minerals ...).I highly recommend (as does the author) that you do a lot of research on your own before you use this book. She may have done research, but she doesn't share it here.

Our dog loves it
Our dog, a rat terrier, has Addison's disease and he didn't have much of an appetite during the first few months after he was diagnosed. Recipes I made from this book were the only thing he would eat for a while there. It's easy to make a big batch and freeze some for later.

SOOOOYYYY
I was told by my vet and from other dog experts that soy is horrible for the dogs and that I should NEVER feed them soy. My dog broke out like crazy. Red bumps all over her legs and stomach not cool that almost ALL their recipes contain it!!!!
