Beechfield Mountain cap

Took this cap on a cold, wet backpacking trip. My ears and head stayed warm and dry. I don't think you would want to wear this hat in warmer weather, as it is made for colder weather and would be too hot for warmer temps. The hat is very easy to adjust the size via the shock cord and cord lock at the back; so it fits securely, but is not tight. The fleece lining is very comfortable and the bill is just long enough to keep most of the rain out of the eyes. The cap seems to be well made and well designed. I am planning to get many years of colder weather use out of it.

At first I thought the brim is a little too short. And it does look angled somehow. But is is quite warm and wind resistant. So in the winter this hat became my go-to hat. It is so much warmer than the standard ear flapped fleece hats without windproof fabric. Nice fit. I have a fairly small head so it's a little loose which I prefer. The ear flaps tuck around the ears just enough to keep most of the wind out. It is lightweight and comfortable and most importantly sheds the snow rather than absorbing it. Perfect for any outdoor activity on a snowy day!

I wasn't sure if this hat will work or not but it did. Lightweight and warm. My head circumference is 22.5". I ordered it on the 12th and received in NYC 8 days later, btw.

This is an amazing hat. Shoveled two feet of snow with a wind chill 0 degree Fahrenheit and this hat kept my head toasty and dry. Very impressed, especially for the price. This was a smart purchase for winters in Maine.

A modestly priced very comfortable warm hat - ear flaps can be used for additional warmth or tucked under.

I like: the drawstring size adjustment, easy care polyester exterior, warm interior, & earflaps. I prefer a shorter bill but I knew this hat came with a regular bill & am satisfied with that. Shipping takes a while but buyer is forewarned. Good product for the price.

My wife loves this hat! She likes that there's space in the back for her hair bun, and that the flaps stay in place whether up or down. It fits her perfectly.

I was a little disappointed with the Beechfield hat as, although it fitted fine, it didn't seem as warm as I'd expected. I wanted a warm hat that covers my ears and provides shade for my eyes so I can wear sunglasses in bright light while out for a walk, eg. on a cold but sunny morning with the sun low in the sky. I'm sure you've all been there. The problem was the ear flaps which were of too lightweight a material to fit cosily over the ears but instead they left an air gap for cold wind to penetrate. For most purposes you might be better off with a cheap thinsulate hat but for cold sunny days I'll be using a buff over my head and ears with my Tilley hat on top, using the chin loop if windy.

I think that this hat is an absolute bargain. It's warm, comfortable, durable and extremely functional. It isn't the most stylish hat on the planet with the flaps folded out, but when they are folded in it looks close enough to a standard baseball cap to look ... reasonable. The adustment works well and the hat fits my head perfectly (male, 57cm), but also fits the head of every other member of my family too down to size 52cm. I think that it would fit people with considerably larger heads too. I liked it so much, I bought a second.

Excellent for the price. Warm, seems waterproof and comfortable. I have a large head and this fits nicely and is versatile. Recommended for camping, dog walking and the like. Recommended.

Fits well and even better when the flaps are unfolded which goes all the way round the back not just the ears.
