WIDE OPEN Plastic Gas Fuel Tank for 1985 1986 1987 Honda Atc 250 ES Big Red

Does not like that the tank doesn't have a filter to prevent trash from entering the fuel.

Bought the tank, carb and shut off kit. Worked great!

Bought this for my Honda Big Red 250es. Petcock does not fit gas tank. Tank is cheaply made. After a year of use it is now leaking!!

Ok so I bought this gas tank for my 1985 ATC Big Red. The shape of tank is pretty close to the original and it’s “prefaded” color matches the oem plastics better than my maier side panels do. Figment issues is where I ran into trouble with this tank. The side panel mounting holes are too far forward on this tank even with the tank slid back as far as it will go. I figured this shouldn’t be to big of an issue as it’s plastic and I just assumed you could wallow out the holes on the mounting flanges with a drill. Well I was wrong, the flanges are hallow and you will end up making a hole into the tank itself. Now I’m stuck with a $100 tank that can’t be used at all. I suppose it was worth it as an experiment and maybe this review can save somebody the hassle as there weren’t detailed reviews about this tank. If you don’t have side panels this tank would be just fine but if you do, save your money and either experiment with a Clark tank which at more than double the cost I would assume fits much better or just spend it on a metal oem tank that needs some repair, that’s what I will be doing with my oem tank. I would send this product back but I feel as that would be unfair as it was “usable” as a gas tank before I took the drill to it!

Installed on 85 Big Red, works good, lines up great, product is as described.

Fit like it should. Original side covers won’t snap in place and stay. Even with the rubber droments that came with tank.
