Dear Mad'm (Women of the West)

I bought several of these books for my senior friends for Holiday presents. I loved the story and just wanted to pass it along.

When my home was burned in the Almeda Fire of 2020, this is one of the first books that I replaced. I love this story and the resilience and joy it portrays.

It wasn't falling apart.

I read this book several times only to gift it to friends so keep buying. This is my 4th copy.I'm familiar with this quaint area of No. Calif. It doesn't change much. for more infogo to the Happy Camp Chamber of Commerce web page. They don't keep it as current as some communities but don't hold that against them. In early sept they have a three day celebration call Bigfoot days. There are 2-3 lodging facilities most being rustic and campgrounds with rV hookups. The area is beautiful. Guides offer gold panning and fishing trips on the klamath river. Beautiful jewelry is made by locals.

I absolutely loved this book. It is the kind of book that you want to read in one sitting or parse it out because you don't want it to end. I decided to make it last!!

DEAR MAD'M IS WONDERFUL SO GREAT AND SO HILARIOUS AND REALLY BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN I JUST LOVED SO MUCH I THAT I AM GOING TO READ IT OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN ITS THAT GREAT HOW STELLA WALTHALL PATTERSON LIVED IN HER CABIN AND HAD FRIENDS THERE LIKE DEAR SIR, AND UP AND UP AND FRENCHY .AND THE MAIL MAN TOM I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS THAT I HAVE EVER READ I THINK I WILL GET A COPY WHO IS NINETY ONE AND STILL GOING STRONG. SHE SAYS SHE WANTS I MAY LOAN MY COPY IF SHE GIVES IT BACK.I THINK I WILL GET A COPY ANYWAY I ORDERED A HARDBACK COPY OF IT FROM A ANOTHER PLACE BUT HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT YET IN THE MAIL.I MAY LOAN HER THAT COPY OF IT I THINK SHE WILL JUST LOVE IT LIKE I DO.

a woman and not a young one at that living alone with no help, interesting to keep reading to find out if she moves back or what happens next.

Wonderful true story,well written about an 80 year old lady who decides to live in a tiny remote cabin on her mining claim alone for a year

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! I'm keeping this in my collection to read over again. I wish I knew more about this amazing woman!
