Used for studying for the P.O. test

My husband and I read though this book over the course of 2 days, took the practice quizzes (which were EXACTLY like the real computer test) and I got an 86 and he got an 85.30 which is pretty good for the new (since 2008) test. It used to be on the old written test that you needed to score in the 90's to be considered - with this new exam I only know of two people who scored higher than us (without Veteran's points) and they got an 87 and an 86.60I highly recommend this book - and it's the *ONLY* one on Amazon with positive *REAL* reviews instead of fake for-hire reviews like the TW Parnell book, for instance. Shameful.

I took the 473 Postal Clerk test and this text was out of date. The test was completely controlled by the computer. Many of his hints on test taking are not relevant when you can't mark in the test booklet as he suggests or make any notes as you take the test. For example, he gives hints on how to rewrite the memorization material for the final section of the test to make it easier to remember. When I took the test two weeks ago, I could only look at the computer screen and work at memorizing it in my head. I couldn't write anything down on paper. On the positive side, it is a good overview of what is covered on the test. I would recommend also doing some of the free online self tests on the computer. It helps to build up your speed as you take the test and gives you a good idea of what a timed computer test is like. (And yes, I did pass the test).

Haven't taken the exam yet so I don't know how helpful this book is. It does have a lot of information and is a good study guide and also helps with where you find a job and the steps in getting there. I didn't give it a 5 star because there were many typos in the book which drives me crazy. For example, things like "You will find the chart on page 154". This "chart" was actually on page 53. The book may have been updated from previous copies and the editors didn't double check page references. It is annoying because most of the page numbers they wanted you to refer to were incorrect.

I place an order for this Post Office book, and I received it in a couple of days, which provide an overview of battery exam and tips on the interview progress. Therefore, I prepare and study for battery exam, believe or not with only six hours of studying, I passed the exam. I was called in for interview, so I went to the book for some advice and what to expect during the interview. As result, I went to the next step which is medical assessment evaluation and passed that too. This book is a great buy, but just remember one thing to apply yourself to your studies with this book and you will have positive results. Good Luck.

This book is a must have if you want to pass your test on the 1st go around. I truly do not think I would have stood a chance without all the tips and information this book provided. It was well worth the $$ invested in it. I did pass with flying colors and I will keep it in case I have to test in another area someday...
