Glad I bought this!
I researched various juice presses for some time and decided to get the Olympus brand. Well, so very happy that I did. I have many tangerines from my garden and used this press to make fresh tangerine juice. It's so wonderfully delicious! In fact, I must admit that it even taste better than orange juice. I am also using this juice press to make lemonade with whey. This device is made well. It suctions to the counter top and does not move when you pull down the lever down. It does not even tilt over. Wish the base was wider and allowed for a larger container to catch the juice, but it's okay, you can work around it. I use a small pyrex measuring glass, then pour the juice into a larger container. Very easy to push/pull the lever.Clean up is super easy. It sits nicely on my counter.I would recommend this juice press rather than the hand held devices. Save your hands.1 month update: I continue to make fresh squeezed local orange and tangerine juice. I saved time (and my hands) by using this to squeeze lemons for lemonade and prune mui. I appreciate the difference in the quality of fresh squeezed juice. Family members come over and use this juice press also. I maintain that this was (and continues to be) a wise investment and supports the trends toward healthy living.Update as of 2-9-14: Well, I added pomegranate to my reportoire of fruits to juice with this device. Oh goodness! Even better than I could have ever imagined. I bought the pomegranates from Costco and they were huge! So, I cut them into quarters then juiced them. You may need to play with the angle to ensure you're squeezing every ounce of juice. I do the same with grapefruits. This handheld juicer, has been and continues to be, one of my better and wiser investments.

Pretty good
Works awesome, sticks to the counter without sliding around, handle flows evenly. My only gripe is that the "strainer" you can take out in watch needs a much better design. When you put an orange in there it will come out of the pocket and you have to pull it back off the orange. There are two parts that come out and those are a poor poor design! It wasn't enough for me to return it, I still like it enough, just dealing with that part is annoying!

Really great for juicing omegranates
Very sturdy, easy to use, easy to clean, and good quality. I wish I had gotten this years ago to juice my pomegranates. We had to quarter our bigger fruit. Can't believe how much clearer the juice comes out after having tried several different techniques over the years (good enough for drinking juice). Just a final strain through a net sieve and the juice was ready for making jelly.

Bad design and a pain to use.
This press is better than most on the market but suffers from some serious design flaws nonetheless making it impossible to recommend. The strainer basket and the cone are too flimsy and flexible and don't lock together well. This combined with lack of drainage holes in the top portion of the cone creates extremely powerful suction as you press down. As a result when lifting the handle the whole "sandwich" of top cone, orange rind, bottom cone and strainer lifts up together. This wouldn't be an issue but because the locking tab on the strainer basket is too small and flexible the bottom come pops out and lifts up together with the rind and top cone resulting in all of the pulp pouring down into the cup. It also forces you to stick your fingers into the whole mess to try to release the cone and the rind. And this is the best case scenario. Lack of holes in the top of the cone directly under the fruit sometimes causes the "blow out" when pressing fruit that's on the drier side, flinging juice and pulp all around the kitchen and operator. Not a pretty sight! It is really hard to understand how this makes it out of the factory since it means that the manufacturer never tested their own product. The solution is laughably simple. Add some small holes at the upper portion of the bottom cone to allow juice to drain easier and quicker which would preven the vacuum effect and stop the blow outs. And make the basket / cone locking tighter and more secure which would prevent the cone from popping out of the basket when the handle is lifted.A no brained if the manufacturer cared about the product.

Hard to improve upon
I drink a lot of orange juice (eg. 10-12 oranges a day) as I think that our culture is completely wrong about sugar. (It's the unsaturated, supposedly "essential" oils that are the problem, not the sugars). I spent months wearing out the Black and Decker juicer (which is a good bargain, but who needs that motor to keep reversing?) and wearing out my arms pressing down on it. After these efforts I was ready to appreciate a device that lets me get the juice out easily. There is some effort with the Olympus, but only what is necessary. Above all I appreciate a well-designed and well-made tool. It's hard to think up an improvement on this one as it is very thoughtfully designed. This juicer is the opposite of flimsy. I actually enjoy pushing down on the lever. The clean up is as easy as is possible with oranges.

Fast work making juice from lime and orange trees
Very pleased with the Olympus XL Commercial Juice Press. Well built (heavy, so it stays put on the counter), and quiet and easy to operate. The juicer is very easy to clean - just two parts that rinse right off. We have used this juicer for about a month and have made juice from about 75 limes and oranges in record time. This unit replaced a Kitchen Aid mixer juicer attachment that was slow, noisy (the mixer is always on), messy while juicing, and a chore to clean afterward. The only drawback to the Olympus is finding a place to store the unit for easy accees. It won't fit under the cabinets on the kitchen counter - another inch is all it would take for the handle in the down position to slide under the cabinets. Would recommend this juicer.

My whole family loves it!
It is kind of pricey but when I buy something that we are going to be using a lot, I like to buy only the best of the best. I have to tell, this is the best. It is amazing, good materials and does a great job. My kids now prepare their own orange juice with no effort. Just remember to put some small plastic every day on the top squeezing piece to avoid having to clean it up. You will only have to wash the bottom part which is really easy.
