Awesome speaker. Horrible company to deal with in repairs.
The speaker was great for the first three months. It was everything I was looking for. Loud. Multi-directional. Long battery life. Loud. Easy to pair. Loud. Rugged. And I used it in the garage, football tailgating, back of the bicycle. If I needed music outdoors, this did the trick. After a few months, the speaker started to crackle. And it never got better. I contacted customer service to work the repair process and they were great. I sent them the speaker (a couple months later). I didn't hear anything after a week, so I reached out. They said they can't find the speaker. I provided the tracking information and they still couldn't find it. Every week, I would reach back out to see if they have found it, but no luck. They were always nice, but never found the speaker. After two months, I think I'm done and am going to go out and buy a new speaker. And it won't be an Outdoor Tech speaker.

Doesn't live up to hype -_-
So it's been about 6 months since I've had this thing and I must say I'm disappointed in how things have turned out. Doesn't hold a charge at all anymore. I have t o keep this thing plugged in to get quality sound. AND speaking of quality sound, that's no longer a stat either. Quality in sound has diminished tremendously since having this speaker. I haven't dropped it or had any mishap since owning it but the quality in battery power and sound quality have severely DROPPED and I haven't even had it for a year. Was planning on getting another one of these cause I was very pleased in the beginning but that is no longer going to happen. Am planning on trying out the UE MegaBoom, but if anyone has other suggestions, do tell!

Back pack turtle speakers?
this? ..... This? ..... THIS?! an AMAZING speaker. Not even a joking. I've written a review for this product about a year or two ago, and I would like to update and inform anyone else of this product. Here it goes!These speakers are tougher than nails, I've dropped it accidentally and dinged the metal interior of my car. (Pic to prove it.) The device did not stutter, break, or as a matter of a fact, was not damaged at all.With the AVI cable, you can connect this thing to just about any device. Wanna hear your record player be played at unheard of volume? Okay, sure.Wanna dent your car with something built stronger than metal? Okay, once more, sure.Wanna connect via blue tooth, charging your phone as it plays music while your talking to your friends about non sense? Okie dokie, its fine.wanna jam out to some music while hiking using blue tooth and wireless support? DEAL. SOLD.What I'm trying to get across is that this thing is stronger than a car door, has more battery juice than your grandma's liquor, AND can be used in emergency situations. I call mine Lassie, because she tells me when she's high, and when she's low, and knows when the fun is about to stop. I'll probably keep mine for the years to come. Great speaker bad warranty
Great speaker great concept. Very rugged long battery lifeBUT! After a little over one year the battery died and guess what? no way to replace it. They dont have a solution other than to offer a discount to buy another one. As an early supporter on kick starter i didnt have the option to buy a warranty as you now can from Amazon. So Ill just have to use it as a door stopper and search for a comparable speaker from another manufacturer.

Never again
Several friend have ask me what happen to my turtle I bought.And I told them all not to waste there money.The new 4.0 is so low and so bassy that you cant even hear it when it makes the connection to a cellphone with the volume all the way up. in my honest opinion. All the reviews on you tube are made by former employees.(This is a less abrasive more politically correct review to appease the amazon community. who should also tell the sellers to stop using profanity in the descriptions of the product they sell. such as this one.)

Awesome speakers, awesome company
I bought these speakers exactly a year ago, and I have been loving this speaker to a point where I considered giving it a name. It plays loud as promised, the sound quality is excellent, the battery life is way beyond what I even expected! And not to mention it looks sexy as hell.I don't have an AUX-port for my car, so the speakers became my improvised AUX port. My friends even started making jokes with me, because I brought it literally everywhere. Unfortunately, I brought it to a beach, and wanted to wash some sand off of it in saltwater. As the idiot that I am, I didn't know saltwater is always bad for electronic devices, waterproof of not, and the speakers starting acting up.I contacted their support and they were really fast to reply and friendly. All I asked for was a spare part, but as awesome as this company is they offered me a replacement Big Turtle Shell!Seriously, I can't recommend this speaker enough and a lot of love goes out to Outdoor Technology aswell!

Just f***ing get it
(Read actual audiophile reviews and comparisons for a more in depth explanation of why this a great product, especially for it's price)However I can assure you it sounds great (not a bloated bass, a more or less neutral sound) and the direction it points along with the surface/surroundings distance is important in how it sounds (as expected really).Battery lasts a lifetime, rugged, great bluetooth, etc etc.For the price it is a solid buy and certainly has a few unique factors to it.

Big Turtle Shell
Awesome, oozes class. Sound quality second to none. This came with an American two pin lead for the charger. Easily rectified. Would highly recommend it.

Don't leave outside.
Don't leave it outside. Not remotely water resistant. Little bit of rain on it and it died. Sound was OK when it did work, but not great. A bit muffled.
