Wera 05004034001 Full Metal Ratchet with Switch Lever

I've owned this ratcher for a 6 months+ now and I feel I can give a fair review.The finish on the handle is lovely, a nice matte effect that has worn very well (not at all). It also has a very nice weighty feel in the hand.Teeth were quite tight when brand new but have loosened up abit after some use but it still feels tight just less resistance.Only problem I have is that there are 4 notchy points when any pressure is applied at angle (turning a bolt that is facing you when putting pressure up or down if that makes sense). Its gone through alot of use, being used multiple times a day. I wouldn't say the notchyness is due to ingress of dirt either because I use it solely in a clean room environment, unfortunately I haven't been able to work out how to get it apart so I can't service it or put any grease in there to try and smoothen it out.I wouldn't be out off by this tho, much nicer than my Halfords advance tools and I would still purchase any other wera tools if I had the need for them.Price point feels good, I also have a bacho ratchet set and use this over that because I prefer a metal handle and also this has finer teeth. I've used snap-on ratchets and although they are a tad tighter and lighter this still holds its ground with them and costs 4x less!!

The matt finish plating on the metal is rubbish – rust is starting to come up through it after 6 months of light use and storage in a dry garage. Traditional bright chrome plating is much more reliable it would seem.

Handle is too long for me but some may like it. Directional selector is rather small and feels flimsy to use. For the money there is better out there.

Wera tools are excellent quality, what I like about this model over the other Zyklop model with the adjustable angle head is the fact this are fixed and set at right angles, it also has a little feature that locks the socket onto the head, simple press the centre button on the ratchet head to attach and release the socket, no more sockets heads coming off mid turn!If you want to use at various angle get a multi directional attachment Wera 003585 Zyklop 8795 B Universal Joint 3/8-inch DriveWera 003585 Zyklop 8795 B Universal Joint 3/8-inch Drive

Somewhat agricultural both in feel and sound. Probably too long for 3/8 as I wouldn't apply too much force. Vague and unbalanced feel as the handle section is too heavy and is pulling on the socket end. A more conventional slim handled ratchet feels a lot more ergonomic.
