This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a simple way to make my coffee and this eliminates all the extra filters and clean up you have with other coffee makers. Not to mention it frees up counter space and is portable for camping etc... I have only had it a few weeks so it hasn't been properly "broken in" yet but so far the coffee tastes great imo and will only get better. Co-workers who have tried it like it too and they are more coffee enthusiasts than I am. I got this along with Fino Pour Over Coffee and Tea Kettle, 4 1/4-Cup and couldn't be happier.

If you like your coffee tasting like you put a splash of furniture polish in it, go for it. That is how the first dozen or so cups tasted. The furniture polish taste (and oil) is finally dissipating, but the filter clogs up, sometimes in the middle of making a cup of coffee. I have to rinse it out, take a toothbrush to the holes, and flush them repeatedly, then start all over again. I bought this item hoping to stop having to buy filters, as I have always made one cup at a time, and I wanted to be a bit more sustainable in my practice. Now, I occasionally give up and still use a filter instead of this device, and even when I use it, I end up wasting coffee, because I get a half cup, then the holes clog up, and I end up having to start over with a fresh scoop. I would certainly never have bought this, especially at the high price, had I known how temperamental it is. I almost dumped it into my thrift box the first week, but I decided to get my money's worth out of it. Considering how much coffee I waste, it may take me a while to break even. I may give up and toss this piece of junk before I get there.

Fantastic! I use coffee filters with it, since it tends to get silt in the bottom of my cup (similar to a french press). This is my daily brew -- the taste is amazing. Definitely my favorite pour over.
