One of Jerry's Best Movies!
I saw and instantly bought this just after seeing "Four Rooms" when quentin tarrantino himself recommends it! Jerry Lewis' character in this film is i would wager where tarrantino got the idea of the persona for "Ted"! which is an excellent match if you see both of these 2 movies! as for the film itself though.. it is Such a cool film it's terrible i'm not allowed to give more stars! Such amazing filming techniques are used during this film, and lewis' acting is an absolute marvel to watch! for an old film.. there aren't any "old jokes" or "used to death" sequences! this is what today's movie business needs to take heed from! this was the age when actors put themselves in pain to get the laugh or the scene just right! todays actors should learn something!

Better than expected
I've always had my doubts about Jerry Lewis, with his grating voice and reputation as an angry egotist. He always rubbed me the wrong way.But I heard this was his masterpiece (partly through the loving praise of Jerry Seinfeld) so out of respect to the world of comedy I watched I'd review this "classic."It is pretty amazing. Even if he did nothing else that I'd enjoy, I can appreciate the work that went into directing, writing and starring in a film that captured his talent. Hats off to a fellow I didn't even want to like!

Not really funny
When I was a young lad my parents used to take me to see the Martin and Lewis films which, in my opinion, were absolutely hilarious. When older I went to see all the Jerry Lewis films but they were never quite as good as when he was paired with Martin. Looking at them now, yes they are "Family" films without sex, violence and bad language but don't seem to be as entertaining as when first seen.

Stanley
What a fabulous concept for a movie only Jerry could pull this off, the main character (Stanley) is the bellboy doesn't speak throughout the movie until the end. This movie was filmed at the famous Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami beach where Jerry performed in the evening so there are scenes where you see Jerry as himself and as Stanley the bellboy, this isn't a silent movie it is a masterpiece that was written, produced and directed a man of many talents. Great movie Jerry

A very good film delivered early
I was very happy with the quality of this product. It was delivered ahead of time. I got it as a present for my Dad and he loves it. It was a bit pricey, but there were no problems with it.

A Jerry Lewis Classic!
I'm so happy they are finally releasing this on DVD. It is one of Jerry Lewis' best films. Now keep in mind, this is a Jerry Lewis film, and I realize that some people just don't "Get" Jerry Lewis. If you are one of those people, this film is NOT for you. Oddly enough his early films with Dean Martin don't fall into this category, but that's another story. You could almost compare this film to an episode of Sienfeld. It's a movie about nothing. There is no big plot, and there is no central event. It's essentially a look at life in a fancy hotel through the eyes of a simple minded bellboy. A true test of an actor's skills is the way they can get a message across without speaking. In this film, the bellboy doesn't speak. It's not a silent movie, everyone else around him speaks and in many cases, shouts, at the bellboy. They bark out orders, order him around but they don't speak WITH him, or seem to care what he has to say. One of the more interesting things about this film is seeing Jerry Lewis play himself, as a movie star guest of the hotel. You get to see an entirely different character. There are very few Jerry Lewis DVDs out. I hope this is the first of many.
