Neither Fits Nor Works
Avoid-avoid-avoidThis one “works” (it doesn’t, really) by using a fiber optic cable to move light to the photoresistor. The included cable does not pick up enough light to properly operate the dropper. If you’re flying a Phantom the included carbon fiber base plate is not cut to proper size and will interfere with some of your drones sensors. “Perhaps” with a better cable it “might” be better but I’m going back to my drop maze instead. Also avoid the Gannet which gets good reviews but the one I purchased was worse than this piece of dung.

Antenna wire dropper
I use this for putting up antennas in trees with my Phantom 4 and it works great.Use a fishing line first to pull up a bigger line like paracord.Use a small weight to keep the fishing line out of your props.

Not Perfect....But Once Installed & Tweaked.....It Works.
I have a DJI Phantom 3 Professional (with camera removed) that I only use to carry out fishing lines. It is the bare minimum I can use to fly out 5 foot redfish leaders and 10 foot shark leaders and I can always replace any damaged or malfunctioning drones for $150/$200 each if needed. The rubber cap did not fit on my drone properly but everything else installed perfectly. I had to figure out how to get enough light to go through the optic cable in order for the remote to control the payload dropper. Since I only use it for fishing it was worth the risk to experiment. What I did was drill a very small hole through the front led light cover on the arm. Then all I had to do was insert the optical cable directly into the LED space and seal it in place with a little electrical tape. It now works perfectly and I am ready to head to the beach Thursday and try it out. Should be able to get it out up to a mile or more easily and catch some sharks and/or redfish....Not sure until I use it (will try to do an update) but this unit looks much better then a different one I had which cost over $250 a few years ago.

It really works!!!
It was cheap & being on my list but not wanting to pay $$$ for one I gave it a shot. While not perfect, the device functionality & durability seems to be there. Long term, no clue as I’m following the lead of another reviewer and rebuilding a Phantom 3 to use it for drone fishing. Thanks to him as I didn’t want my Phantom 4 V2 Pro in the Atlantic going after a fish. If you’re mechanically inclined go for it!

Won’t charge or operate
The device will not charge went using the recommended 5V 1amp usb charger which I have that does work on a regular basis. Tried a second one an still the device will not charge.

This dropper interferes with the down sensors
The dropper interferes with the down sensors. It makes it where the drone will not descend at any rate of speed faster than a snails pace. It's infuriating to use. There's no way to mount it without it interfering so be prepared to take a few minutes just for the drone to come to the ground. I've ordered $40 in carbon fiber parts to try to build a bracket that keeps the dropper out of the way of the sensors to hopefully fix this issue. It's sad I had to pay this much for a product that clearly doesn't allow the drone to function properly. I've taken the dropper off and the drone goes back to operating like or should.

Works Great, but isn't a fit for my Phantom 4 P
To mount this on the legs of a Phantom, it will have to mount standing up vertical but that isn't optimal with the mechanical parts. I am going to make a mount that when mounted, the load will be center.
