I have the Kaboom cleaning system in my home. We have 6 people and I got sick of ALWAYS cleaning the potty so when I came across it I got it. When I went to get the refills I saw the prices and then found THIS.....There are some negatives, BUT I live with them because they work so well. There is a really REALLY strong bleach smell. I know the seller can't control that as that's just how they are created. Also, the direction that come with these say to place 1 tablet in the cleaning unit. When I do that they seem to go faster, BUT, that could just be my household. Like I said I have 6 people in it ages 8-81 and 3 of us are on the "disabled" list as I will call it.Other than those couple little trivial things, the product is great. I have 3 guys who think I'm a janitor, a 1st grader who is autistic, I myself have health issues and then there is my Mother who was in the Military and the toilet passes even HER inspection.

I used this product as a last ditch effort to clean a toilet that had been overused and under cleaned for years. Although I was skeptical, I placed the tablets in the dispenser I had purchased elsewhere and allowed a few days of normal use before evaluating the results. When I attempted to scrub the bowl one week later, I was amazed that the built-up scum came off with out much trouble and that the surface below looked as good as new. This is a much less expensive alternative to the Brand-Name tablets that fit in the same type of dispenser.

Yeah, a decent nose can detect chlorine after a flush - smells slightly like a pool. But they work well, for me at least. If you have a real problem with smelling a bit of bleach after a flush, I'd suggest another product. It's not nearly as strong as swimming in a pool, but for a few minutes there is a detectable scent. Not overpowering, not even strong. Just enough to make a sensitive nose go "suddenly I am reminded of the high school swimming pool."And is the scent of bleach from the bathroom immediately post-flush all that bad? I kinda like it - killing germs and such.

These are not the same as Kaboom tablets. They do not clean the bowl at all -- I find a brown slime all over it and end up scrubbing the bowl at least once a week; they don't last even a month in our house while the Kaboom tablets last 3 mos.; the tablets have destroyed the tubes coming out of the Kaboom system and after replacing the tubes, I noticed the inside of the lid of the container is being eaten away as well. Also, the smell of these things is toxic -- don't breathe until you leave the bathroom (and be sure to shut the door behind you) seriously, they have a very strong chemical smell -- much worse than pool chlorine -- and in a small, closed room it can be really bad. The only good thing about the smell is that you can tell when the tablet's gone, but there's really no point in replacing it.I thought I'd use up what I'd bought before buying Kaboom tablets but I'm going to pitch the rest -- I won't put them in the new Kaboom system I've had to buy.

These are a MUCH cheaper alternative to the kaboom tablets. They work just as well and after 4 months I can tell you that I can't really tell much of a difference. I always try to save money where I can but I am also a fan of not cleaning the toilet so this is just a win-win all around for me!Update November 2015: These still work great. They seem identical to the Kaboom brand. The smell is not over-whelming, or even that noticeable in my case. I can't believe all the negative reviews on these! These are totally great. Feel free to ask me any questions that you may have and I'll try to answer them.

In terms of efficacy, it works just as well as the original Kaboom tablets.It's obviously not the same stuff though:1. It's obvious from the instructions themselves, telling us to put only 1 tablet in the Kaboom. The original Kaboom unit I have instructed to use 2 tablets.2. The smell is stronger.3. Tablets only last about a month. My original 2 Kaboom tablets lasted just shy of 6 months. Even if you divide by 2 tablets, this is close to 3 months each for the original stuff, and only 1 month for this generic one.

Works well, keeps bowl clean. I have directly compared the OEM cartridges and think both are effective, but pricing for this set is significantly lower. OEMs are way overpriced!There is a faint chlorine smell, but even the original units have this to a lesser extent. I think the smell is greatly exaggerated by some of the other reviews.

Have used these for few years. Suddenly not available. All available now are waaaaaay overpriced items that dont work. Bring these back.

Does just like the original tabs but with just 1. Don't think I'd want to double it up. Get some extra chemicals splashing on my bits, might be guessing where those bumps come from. Comes in a Zip Lock. Surprised Customs didn't flag it as a potential drug. First tide pod challenge, maybe this next. In 5 years when their all done, I'll buy again.

These are 1/4 the size of the originals they are meant to replace.They last MUCH less time to do their job.A big disappointment and would never buy again.

These tablets are 1/3 of the original one and not 15% as stated in the description. You can see in the picture size difference between tables and the kaboom tablets

These tablets dissolve almost immediately. Nothing like the product they're supposed to replace.
