The nylon resin is impregnated with grit to make a wheel that is durable, water and solvent resistant, fairly firm yet still retaining enough flex for use on irregular and contoured surfaces, angles or odd shapes. As the wheel wear down a fresh cutting edge is exposed. Fitting The wheel has a small hole at its centre, surrounded by a leather washer this is to ensure a firm fit and prolonging the life of the wheel. The wheel is then fitted by screwing it by hand onto a tapered nose (also called a Pigtail) Not included. Then it is usually fitted to a drill or lathe.
