It did exactly what I expected it to
You have to pry the USB hub out, it takes a bit of pressure and working back and forth on each side. Once I had it popped out it was easy to unplug and plug in the new unit. I had already upgraded my 2016 F150 to the latest Sync 3 through Ford's website so when I plugged in my iPhone 13 Pro Max the Apple Carplay notification popped up and it's been working great in the weeks since then. Carplay is great in my opinion, safer then looking down at my phone and easier to navigate. Very happy with the upgrade.

This works and has no problems.
This installed quite easily. I watched a YouTube video for a 2016 Ford Edge and had a friend come over for assistance. I started yanking on trim pieces that came off rather easily and set them aside. Within 2 or 3 minutes we had the dash exposed enough to remove the 4 screws that held the face plate on. Removed the old USB from the back. Installed the new one and Walla car play is working. Checked it a few times to make sure it was working and put everything back together again. As we were putting on the last piece of trim on the right, we ran the cable, hidden inside the trim to the bin. Looks professional and it’s working just fine. Maybe 15 minutes....tops.

2016 Ford Escape Titanium Easy install.
After updating ford sync3 firmware in my escape still no carplay! What needed a USB module? HC3Z-19A387-B So I bought this one and received it the next day!! YAY! In my escape the ports are under the center console lid. I carefully slid a very thin trim screw driver under the edge of the existing module so that I could fit a slightly larger one in to pop it out. If you look at your new one you can see the location of all of the holding clips use your smaller screw driver to gently press the top two down as you tip the module out, then press in on the two side clips one at a time if necessary ( I didn't have to it popped right out) Unplug the old and in with the new. Less than 5 minutes. your results may very. plugged in my iPhone, pushed the ignition button to acc and nice Carplay on screen. Don't stress about damaging the old module just protect the cars interior that old module is trash now anyway.

Easy CarPlay upgrade
Our gps had started freezing while in use in our 2016 f150. The screen would show us driving through fields in different states instead of on the road. Eventually would completely lock up and need to be reset. I knew this wasn’t going to completely fix my problem, but it has certainly helped. When running on CarPlay, everything functions as it should. Without a phone plugged in, we still have problems occasionally. I can’t believe Ford put such a cheap crappy computer into a $50,000 truck

Worked right away in my 2016 F-150
I have the Sync 3 and had already updated the software a couple months before I bought this USB port. I thought that's what I had to do to get Apple CarPlay to work. After some more research I learned that I also had to upgrade my USB ports. I kinda of skeptical about it, but after a few months I decided to go ahead and buy this one. It arrive literally the next day. I popped out the old USB port, it was tad hard, almost bent my tool but then it did come out. It took like a minute to plug the two cords into the new USB port and snap it back in. As soon as i plugged in my phone I went to the setting app, activated CarPlay under General and it came right up on my screen. Very happy with this! It was definitely worth paying $42 for the part and doing it myself instead of having the deanships do it who told me it would cost $250.

Getting Apple CarPlay actually is just as simple as popping out the old and inserting the new!
I have a 2016 F-150 XLT with Sync 3 and the large 8" touchscreen. I've been using android phones and the android auto feature since I bought the truck. I just recently switched back to iPhone and after doing some research found that all you need to do to get CarPlay is switch out the USB module. I've seen these for as little as $40 but most on Amazon are about $60. Installation was simple. I just used a thin flathead screwdriver, popped out one end and used my keys to hold it open (if you don't put something in to hold the one side it will pop back in when you go to open the other side). Swapping out the connections was easy. Snapped it back in place, started up the truck, a new screen came on asking to tap ok for CarPlay and voila! I now have Apple CarPlay and it works great!.

Apple Car Play is Amazing!
Worked perfectly in my 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat 4x4 truck so that I now have Apple Car Play. A heads up though on one thing. If you have a iPhone 11 Pro Max then you are going to want to buy a USB adapter that allows you to plug in a USB-C to lighting cord just like the cord that comes in the box for the iPhone 11 Pro Max for the wall charger. But, I bought the USB wireless adapter that allows me to not have to plug in my phone anymore which is so worth it! Don’t get the cheap adapter if you end up doing that. Make sure to get the name brand over $200 adapter for that!

very good, works on my F150 2016
The media could not be loaded. It works, when I looked at it the first time I thought it was not original, but it also doesn't matter as long as it works, after removing the original from my car I realized that they are very similar. the leds are the same as the original and everything works very well, remember to update the firmware, if it is 2016 or older you may need to go to Ford
