Nicely Built And Sturdy
I'd ordered this feeder to get Oriole's to start feeding at our place when they came back this Spring. I received it in time to be able to put it out early and it's drawn them as they're arriving back after wintering elsewhere. It is very sturdy, the built-in perches are really good and the size is just great. Cleaning it is a breeze, plus it looks nice.

Another one added to the mix
My yellow finch love this feeder. I like that it's glass. It cleans up better than the plastic ones.

Not recommended by me
This feeder looked promising, but there's really nothing about it that I like. The color is "off," in that it is very dull, almost gold, not orange. Because the reservoir is glass it is almost too heavy for me to handle easily, since I have to lift it into position. The opening is only "wide" mouth in comparison to a soda bottle; it is not near as wide as the opening on the reservoirs of the F**** N***** 32 oz hummmingbird feeders I use. I have not seen it "attractive" to orioles in the least. They showed up more often for my hummingbird feeders. I will say I have had no problem with the glass breaking or the top popping off.

Dramatic failure
I bought both models of the stokes bee proof oriole feeders. The only difference between the two is the deluxe has a nice glass bottle and a good ant trap . That is what is good to say about it. So far as either model being bee proof , that is a joke. The bases on both models is identically the same, relying on a pivoting ball type plug and a counterweight. The bees muscle their way right past it and I have trapped hundreds of bees. I wrapped 6 wraps of a fine stainless steel wire around the counterweight in an attempt to add more weight to the counterweight. No success yet. When I first put the feeders out , I did see hummingbirds successfully using them but since the bees discovered them no more . These feeders are a dismal failure. For a company who normally sells fair to good products they flubbed badly with these. Did they ever field test these?I would give zero stars if allowed, I would rather have my money back. I regard it the fault of the manufacturer , not the seller .

CANNOT be used where bees are present.
Good: Heavyweight glass, large opening, large capacity, and base and perch disassemble to facilitate cleaning. Bad: The bees love it! Over the last 3 weeks I've 'harvested' over 300 bees in the base, where they drown and die. One single bee can't get past the feeding ports, but several bees together, pushing in unison, seem to be able to overcome the lightweight 'bee guards.' I'm assuming one bee wedges itself and keeps the entrance open, while the rest file in and ultimately drown in the base or glass. Overall, very disappointed at the (lack of) performance. How hard would it be to put springs on the 'bee guards,' so that it takes more force to open (which should be no problem for a much heavier oriole)? Need a beta-tester? Send me some springs and I'll install and report back. Until then, product is not suitable for my location.
