20" x 18" Three Bears Fireback

We use our wood fireplace as a supplement to a heat pump in very cold weather. We have more of a modern/contemporary styling and this one is beautiful and reassuringly heavy.Came with a couple of shiny spots where the fireback had rubbed on the cardboard packaging. I polished it with the recommended stove polish, let it dry overnight, then wiped it clean with a dry rag. Placed in the back of my fireplace with safety feet and built a couple of small (2-3 log) fires over successive days. The next big cold snap we built a big roaring fire and it projected heat right into the house. Our fireplace is a more effective heat source and the cost of logs is much cheaper than the power needed to run a heat pump when its below 35 degrees. This fireback will pay for itself in less than a season. With its cast iron construction, I expect it to outlive me. Easy 5 stars.
