Fantagraphics' loving and painstaking reproductions at their finest..!!
Fantagraphics care so much about the material they invest in. There is so much love for these cartoons, and so much care in their preservation and presentation that it gives a fan a sense of well-being. It's so nice to have Fantagraphics' terrific compilations, it really is. I have gotten some of the Peanuts collections, and those are amazing - and I wanted to go back further and check out the Krazy Kat comics - - and I must say that this book is a thing of beauty. It really is. I am thrilled with the entire packaging. There is a lot of love put into this book - I can't wait to get the rest in the Fantagraphics Krazy Kat collection. This is the real deal. Very, very nice. Beautiful presentation. I am extremely happy with this purchase. It is a knockout. Highest recommendation.

In the Beginning for Krazy Kat
Ridiculously brilliant comic and art in general. From the very beginning, Krazy Kat was a work of genius. I find it interesting that almost one hundred years after it was first written, it is still better than any other contemporary comic. Timeless humor is the phrase that comes to mind, because Krazy, Ignatz Mouse, and Offisa Pup all exist in their own unique, funny, brilliant, universe. Krazy Kat will never go out of style.

Krazy and Ignatz
This is a good reading comic strip but don't plan to finish it in less than about a year or you may be disappointed. I only read one or two pages per day.

Krazy not to!
This review is specific to the kindle version. While it could be improved if the essays had been converted into text rather than scanned (which renders them virtually unreadable) For me this earns it's five star rating because it allows me to view the panels up close and for someone with less than perfect vision it is great to read the cartoons without needing to squint or use a magnifying glass to read them. I find the kindle paper white gives an excellent feel to the artwork as well. You could be picky about some of the framing but it didn't bother me, weigh that against the huge advantage of being able to have the entire collection in your pocket and you have a winner. If I could only have one version it would be the printed every time but fortunately I don't have to make that choice.
