Works as described
I put 2 of the new intel 2gb ssd's in this and put them in a raid 0 array in windows. Really fast but more important I think they'll hold up better splitting up the writes a bit.

Good, but noisy fan
The card works just fine. It connects 4 M.2 NVMe cards up to 4 PCIe lanes each, so mixing and matching M.2 devices should work fine. It doesn't do RAID, but I only trust the Linux kernel to do that. I'm using the card to support a 6 M.2 device array; the other two are on the mainboard, and RAID works across all of them. The fan is noisy; it was the loudest thing in my computer when switched to run at its low speed. Fortunately, the fan can be easily removed, and even replaced. There is a wiring harness that can be detached, and it is held in place by three screws. With the fan removed, it is quiet and just as willing to work. The NVMe temperatures I'm seeing are up to 32C idle, and up to 65C during RAID scrubbing (15+ minutes of constant access to all RAID devices).

Add in storage, Works exactly as intended
This is not a Raid controller. It is a card to add in extra storage and use your Asrock motherboard's raid controller or use windows software raid to achieve higher speeds. If your motherboard does not have that capability and you want a hardware raid solution try using Amazon product High Point SSD7101A-1 NVMe RAID Controller instead. True hardware raid costs significantly more than this. I have used many. Save your money and purchase this if you only want extra storage or if you have a motherboard that has a raid controller on board that will give you true hardware raid speed. If not you can always use it for a software raid setup which is still faster than just a single drive but you are using your processor and software to control it.Personally I like the High Point SSD7101A-1 NVMe RAID ControllerYou won't be disappointed if you fully research what your needs are and what you are trying to achieve.Anyone leaving a negative review on t hi is product just didn't do the research and they are arrogant to their own error.

"Ultra" means PCIe 3.0. "Hyper" means PCIe 4.0
I own the Hyper Quad Card in an ASRock X570 Creator mobo build (Crucial MP600 M.2 in the Card). According to ASRock TS, in the product line of Quad Cards, "Ultra" means PCIe 3.0 compliant. "Hyper" meas PCIe 4.0 compliant. The Hyper card was released in Jan. 2020 to complement ASRock's x570 mobos (and other X570 (AMD Ryzen CPU) mobos) The 4.0 spec provides 2x the data rate of 3.0... a major improvement.

This is NOT a RAID controller, but it functions well for what it does.
First and most importantly, for those seeking an NVMe RAID host bus adapter, this is not it. You should take a look at the Highpoint SSD7103, a "FakeRAID" controller solution. If you just need an expansion card to expand your NVMe storage and have an onboard RAID chipset that supports NVMe RAID, this will satisfactorily fulfill your need. The construction is fairly decent, and i haven't experienced any throttling issues as it keeps my NVMe fairly "cool" . But it's probably a bit on the pricey side for what it is. Thus, i only gave it 4 stars. At this time, there really isn't a decent hardware RAID host bus adapter with features such as an IO processor and onboard RAM like my old Areca 1231 HBA. I've currently got my RAID upgrade path on hold, hoping such a host bus adapter for NVMe will arrive.

ASRock Ultra Quad m.2 Card

Pessima. Rinviata. Grazie ad Amazon.
