Simply awful
Simply awful. This book introduces terms and acronyms without defining them, or not defining them until later in the book. overall, its written in a very confusing manner. It makes me think my college received kickbacks for using this book for an introductory course. Also concerning is the number of seemingly paid off reviews for this book. Most of which consist of something along the lines of "Great product, received quickly". Of course the same reviewers left the same identical generic reviews for several products, some related and others completely different. Most of their reviews left on the exact same day. Hmmmm.

This book is simply terrible. The index is the most useless thing
DO NOT USE TO TEACH YOUR CLASS. This book is simply terrible. The index is the most useless thing. The organization of the chapters are confusing. I'm trying to find an explanation about dendritic cells and all I find are small non-explanatory phrases. I look in the index to try to find this word and it's listed once so I go to that page where it is used once in a sentence, and then that sentence directs me to a different chapter which still does not explain the cell type. In addition, there are multiple places in the book where the writer simply re-wrote/copy and pasted the exact same phrase to explain a topic instead of relating the two similar topics together. As a student, this book is absolutely horrid. Horrid to read, extremely boring and repetitive, and awful organization.

Hard to read. Lack of organization.
Worst textbook I have ever read in my four years of college. Whoever assigns this book clearly is being paid to do so. Takes you an hour to read one page and not even comprehend a third of what it is trying to say. Vocab words on the first page of each chapter have some that are not listed in the glossary or have definitions for within the chapter. Extremely lengthy when it is unnecessary to be written that way. I don't ever leave reviews, especially for textbooks, but this was the first horrible one I have ever come across. Please avoid it at all costs.

even after having taken UC Berkeley's excellent immunology course
My clinical immunology instructor likes this textbook, but I found it difficult to read, even after having taken UC Berkeley's excellent immunology course. Many of the figures are poorly designed and lack adequate labels, legends, etc. Perhaps the book got better after the first few chapters, but I lost patience and used my old Parham text and Google instead.

Not for beginning students or lab techs
Not recommended for a beginning student. Better suited for medical school. Very thorough but very difficult to read.

Waste of money
Many Answers to questions in the back of the book are incorrect! I used my college immunology book instead of this during my MLS school year.

Good book
Got tons of useful info in it. Just don't like the green and gray color and the pages are very thin.

Immunology & Serology in Laboratory Medicine
Confusing if you have never taken an immunology class before, but very informative.

It is a very good complementary book for the students
It gives some basic immunology in first chapters, and then, goes into serology. It is a very good complementary book for the students.
