Primarily I read about other reviews saying they blew out tubes so I mentioned this to my bicycle Pro. Mentioning that I have done the same, twice in 20 minutes. he said yes when he delivers my bike I will show you the way to avoid this it’s about equalization of both sides of the tire or as you inflate the tire a partial amount and seat the bead all the way around on the left side and then seated all the way again on the right side. Then you may air your tire. I told him about the time seven years ago or I blew a tire coming into Walmart and I asked the crew in the repair shop to use the hose to pair my tube. I must say they were extremely nice. I pinched it I blew it and they all jumped 3 feet off the ground. I went in the store purchased another tube repeat rince recycle Bang. Then I was more cautious. Hence my my learning experience. First, my bike mechanic has a multi thousand feet high tech machine shop that includes laser cutting plasma CNC etc. he also operates other businesses one was a bike shop for 20 years. On the side he loves to work on bicycles for 40 years but not for everyone he’s close to retiring and he’s thinking about doing this more on a full-time basis. When I sent this Bucklos wheelset to him and a new set of tires from Continental Gatorskin and tube set he could not believe the quality of these wheel sets. Particularly at this price saying that they should easily cost 2 to 3 times more. He has access to the 17 largest bicycle warehouses in the United States and he said he could not even come close to this price within $800. He was so impressed with the quality of these wheels and he said they were true upon arrival and he made no adjustments to having the wheels run true. He installed for me a new set of Continental Gatorskin tires 700 X 25C - 60 mm Presta valve, $117.00 at Amazon. He placed the recommended pressure of 120 psi and I thought the bike was going to feel every pavement crack but I was totally wrong these wheels wore so much better than my old set up but is not a rougher ride or a more jarring ride across rough pavement I just couldn’t believe it these wheels are really making a difference. The tires really make a difference. Highly recommend. As my bike man says the number one difference that you can make to a bike is a set of wheels and tires. This is a man with 40 years of experience and he has no hyperbole in his vocabulary. Zoom! Zoom! Going from 700 by 35C to 700 x 25C tires I have dropped my gears by 1.5 to 2 even in the worst hills.

I've been riding Conti Gators for 20+ years. Getting two tires plus Conti tubes for $100 is a steal. A shop will sell one tire for $60+.

I be used to get flats every couple weeks. Since I installed these I have not had a flat yet, I have been driving on the exact same paths and based upon my prior experience I should have had a flat by now but with these I have not. These seem to be doing a great job of protecting me from getting flat tires.

I started using the Gatorskins when i had three flats on one ride. I even line them with Mr. Tuffy tire lines for evwn more protection. I commute and the streets in California are lined with many things that can cause a flat. In the two years or so that I have been using the Gatorskins, i have onky had two flats. One was from a staple (go figure) and the other was from something unknown. That is after about 10,000 miles. Pretty good in my opinion. They have weat indicators and they last for well over 1000 miles. So they are great and have a long life. I like the ride too. They work well for my needs. I like Continental innertubes too. They hold pressure very well. I give them a boost about once a week. I recommend these if you bike anywhere that is prone to flats or has a lot of debris on the road.

These are the Genuine article and are a little heavy as described elsewhere but well worth it for puncture resistant. For superior to my Bontrager R1’s that came with my tractor money.

These Gator Skins are a very worthwhile purchase in ares of goat heads, stickers and glass to minimize the chances of a puncture. They were flawless on my Hotter n Hell Hundred ride in late August.

Great value for the money. Product came as advertised and was easy to mount and install. Depending where you shop, these tires are usually $60/ piece without tubes.

I like this brand of tires very much, have been on three different bikes in the last 10 years.
